Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: LocalTV+ at 173 against Bob's Memory Station's 14. Bob's Memory Station's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
LocalTV+ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LocalTV+ has 173 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of LocalTV+'s written reviews are positive against 100% of Bob's Memory Station's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
LocalTV+ ships an update every 4 months, Bob's Memory Station every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
