It’s 6pm. The fridge is open. You’re staring in — and somehow there’s nothing to eat, even though there clearly is. Lardar is for exactly that moment. Snap your kitchen — fridge, cupboard, freezer, any of it — and Lardar reads what’s actually in there and decides one dinner you can cook tonight. Not four hundred recipes to scroll past. One confident answer, built from what you already own. Cook it. Tah’dar. HOW IT WORKS • Snap your kitchen. Point your phone at the shelves. Lardar works out what’s fridge, what’s cupboard, what’s freezer, and reads what’s in — best-before dates too, when they’re legible. • It decides. One dinner you’ll actually make, from what’s actually there, with honest macros and a plan B on standby. No endless scrolling, no “here are 300 things you could cook.” • Cook it. Step-by-step cook mode, then the victory screen. Lardar remembers what you made, notices what ran low, and quietly builds your shopping list. • Cook hands-free. Lardar reads each step out loud and listens for “next”, “back” and “repeat” — the listening happens on your phone. Optional: it logs what you cook to Apple Health (calories and macros; it writes, it never reads). • Or just say it. Tap the chef and tell Lardar what you’ve got, what you fancy or what needs using up. “I fancy beef” gets one dinner built round it and the few things to pick up. What you say is turned into words on your phone. ASK LARDAR (Lardar Plus) A sous-chef who knows tonight’s kitchen. Once your list is in or your dinner’s decided, ask it anything about tonight: make it quicker, make it fancier, swap the thing you haven’t got, what to drink with it, how to rescue a split sauce, how to scale it for four. It knows what’s in and what you’re cooking — so the answers are about your dinner, not dinner in general. THE WEEK AHEAD (Lardar Plus) One scan, a few dinners that share ingredients, and a single shop for the gaps. Days are suggestions, never orders — a quiet week is allowed. YOUR SHOP (Lardar Plus) Say “Write my shopping list” and Lardar writes the shop from what’s in, what ran out and your week, in the order a British supermarket walks. Say “Remind me to take the chicken out at 4” and it’s in Apple Reminders. YOUR FOOD, FIRST A UK family home bins around £1,000 of food a year. Lardar isn’t here to lecture you about it — it’s here to turn what you’ve already got into dinner. FAIR, FOREVER Your first five AI dinners are free. After that, keep one free dinner a week, forever — or take Lardar Plus for £2.99 a month or £24.99 a year (under £2.10 a month): every dinner, every night, plus Ask Lardar, The Week Ahead, your shopping list written for you, and reminders you just say. Cancel whenever, straight from Apple’s own subscription settings. HONEST BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-in. Your kitchen lives on your phone, not in an ad profile. • No fake food photos passed off as your dinner. Estimates say they’re estimates. • Your dietary rules, double-checked on every dinner. Lardar isn’t an allergy service — check packs if allergies matter. Snap your kitchen. Lardar decides. You cook it. Tah’dar. Lardar Plus is an auto-renewing subscription: £2.99 a month or £24.99 a year, charged to your Apple Account. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Deep Blue Loyalty at none against Lardar's 2. Deep Blue Loyalty also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). Lardar's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price there is nothing between them.
