About

Heritage Walker

Features

Heritage Walker is an offline map of 265,222 heritage places in 228 countries. Castles, prehistoric monuments, industrial landmarks, sacred sites, memorials and lighthouses - stored on your phone, not fetched from a server. WORKS WITH NO SIGNAL, BECAUSE IT CANNOT PHONE HOME Turn on airplane mode and the app behaves identically. That is not a setting. Heritage Walker contains no networking code of its own - the release build is automatically rejected if any appears in it. No account, no sign-up, no analytics. Nothing you do in this app can leave your phone, because there is no code capable of sending it. WHAT IS ON THE MAP 41,625 archaeological sites. 44,542 memorials. 25,471 castles. 22,748 museums. 5,539 lighthouses. Every record travels with you. NOW IN TWELVE LANGUAGES The whole app - interface, categories and the reading voice - is available in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Arabic and Hindi. A Dutch church is read in Dutch, a French abbey in French - the app detects the language of each record on your device and picks a matching voice, instead of reading the world in English. ADD THE COUNTRY YOU ARE STANDING IN The map is free and complete. Heritage Plus downloads the country you are walking in at full density - Rome goes from 419 places to over 2,200, carried on the phone. The download is handled by the App Store itself, the way an app update arrives, and it carries nothing about you. THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE No reviews, no opening hours, no booking, no feed. It is a map of what is around you and what it is. If you want a travel guide, this is not one.
