Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Hubitat Elevation at 4.1 against WaaKey's 3.0. Hubitat Elevation also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (979 vs 37). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. WaaKey sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Hubitat Elevation asks for nothing beyond the download.
Hubitat Elevation holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hubitat Elevation has 979 ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Hubitat Elevation's written reviews are positive against 25% of WaaKey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Hubitat Elevation ships an update every 3 weeks, WaaKey fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
