Java Calendar or Kalender Jawa is a native app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that brings the traditional Javanese calendar system to your pocket. Instantly convert any Gregorian date into its Javanese equivalent — complete with pasaran (5-day market week), wuku (30-week pawukon cycle), and full Javanese day, month, and year — using calculations checked against primary primbon sources rather than approximate rules of thumb. TODAY AT A GLANCE See the Javanese date for any day: dina, pasaran, wuku, and full Javanese date, alongside a Good/Neutral/Bad day indicator. A dedicated Dina Ala panel lists every traditional inauspicious-day category the date falls under — Taliwangke, Kaladite, Samparwangke, Bangas Padewan, Hari Sangar, Sarikagung, Dhendhan Kukudan, and Sengkan Turunan — each with a plain-language explanation of what it means. FULL MONTHLY CALENDAR Browse an entire month at once. Every day shows its Gregorian date, Javanese date, and pasaran, with Sundays and Fridays color-highlighted and each day shaded green, gray, or blue to show its Good Day status at a glance — with a legend for quick reference. Jump straight to any month and year with a single tap. WETON & COMPATIBILITY Look up anyone's weton (birth-day designation) from their date of birth, see their neptu (numerological value), and check marriage compatibility between two people — now across three traditional calculation systems side by side, each verified against primbon manuscripts and academic sources rather than secondhand summaries: • Jodoh — 8 categories: Pegat, Ratu, Jodoh, Topo, Tinari, Padu, Sujanan, Pesthi • Petung Salaki Rabi — 7 categories: Wasesa Segara, Tunggak Semi, Satriya Wibawa, Sumur Sinaba, Satria Wirang, Bumi Kapetak, Lebu Katiup Angin • Pancasuda — 5 categories: Sri, Dana, Lara, Pati, Lungguh Every result comes with a plain-language explanation of its traditional meaning, so you're never just looking at a label. BUILT ON VERIFIED SOURCES Every calculation in Kalender Jawa — from the day/pasaran/wuku cycle to Hari Baik, Dinå Alå, and now the jodoh compatibility systems — is checked against real primbon references, including the Kitab Betaljemur Adammakna and the Serat Pawukon (Padmasusastra, 1903), not just secondary summaries. Where a traditional rule couldn't be fully verified, it's left out rather than guessed at. Whether you're checking today's good day before an important decision, picking a date for a wedding, or simply want to understand what your weton or wuku means, Kalender Jawa is a fast, reliable, offline companion for Javanese calendar traditions. Runs natively on iPhone, iPad, and Mac from one shared app — no ads, no tracking, no internet connection required.
