Elastic OSC vs Wobulator

Elastic OSC is a synthesizer app based on the DSP code of the Mutable Instruments Plaits hardware oscillator module, one of the most beloved (and cloned) oscillator modules in the Eurorack modular scene! Like the original, Elastic OSC comes with a wide variety of possible sounds, from analog-style, FM, and additive sounds to physical modeling, percussive, and even drum sounds. Elastic OSC can be used in both monophonic and 8-voice polyphonic modes. You can play the app using the (on-screen) keyboard or an external keyboard or sequencer inside your DAW of choice. The app focuses on ease of use, featuring two XY pads for intuitive sound manipulation of the OSC engine and the effects. Despite the simplicity of the cleaned-up interface, the sound possibilities are vast – thanks to 24 different oscillator models and the ability to automate parameter changes, as it is possible in all Elastic apps released so far. A versatile Arpeggiator makes it easy to start with simple ideas or can already create entire sonic worlds. Elastic OSC includes an integrated help system (tap “?”) to provide explanations for nearly every GUI element, the underlying DSP model, and most of the app’s functionality. The closer a target is placed to an LFO corner, the stronger its influence. All active LFOs always sum up to 100% (e.g. LFO1 50%, LFO2 30%, LFO3 20%).

Wobulator Modulator Plugin (AUv3) Wobulator is an audio effect plugin that can run standalone, or in any AU compatible host application such as Logic or GarageBand. Overview Wobulator is a stereo chorus / modulation effect with a wobbly twist! The chorus effect is typically achieved by modulating the time of a delayed version of the dry signal, and mixing the two. Typically, these delay times are very short, around 20ms. Wobulator includes a "Wobble" parameter that adds variation to both the rate and depth, which makes the modulation cycle less obvious to the listener. Parameters Active - Toggles the effect On or Off. Delay - Varies the base delay time between 10-100ms. Higher delay times can be used to create ADT (automatic double tracking) type effects. Rate - Sets the base modulation LFO frequency between 0.01 and 2.00Hz. Depth - Sets the amount of base delay modulation. For example, a 50ms Delay, with 50% Depth, will be modulated between 25 and 50ms. Wobble - Sets the amount of variation introduced by an internal wobulation matrix! At extreme settings the unpredictable nature of the resulting modulation can sound almost tape-like. When Wobble is set to zero, Wobulator behaves like a standard chorus effect. Mix - Sets the balance between the dry / input signal and the wet / processed sound. At 50%, the mix is an equal amount of dry and wet. At 100%, you hear the wet / processed sound only, which is good for wobbly tape effects!
