Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: GymBook ・ Strength Training at 95% against Gymlify's 0%. GymBook ・ Strength Training also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 6). Gymlify's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. GymBook ・ Strength Training sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Gymlify sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Gymlify holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GymBook ・ Strength Training has 2.4K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of GymBook ・ Strength Training's written reviews are positive against 0% of Gymlify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
GymBook ・ Strength Training ships an update weekly, Gymlify every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
