SUS4 BPM

What's the tempo? Tap it. Or just let the app listen. SUS4 BPM does two things: it captures tempo from your taps, and it detects BPM live from a mic or an audio file. Both are useful. When a musician in the room is playing something and you need to know the exact tempo before you open your DAW or set a metronome, just point your phone and read the number. Tap mode averages your taps and shows a stable BPM immediately. Live detection mode streams the BPM in real time from any audio source — a drummer practising, a track playing on a speaker, a click in a film cue. File analysis lets you load a recording and pull the tempo without even being in the same room as the player. • Tap-tempo averaging with immediate stable readout • Live streaming BPM detection from any audio source via mic • Audio file analysis — load a track, get the tempo • Clean, large display — readable at a glance from across a desk • Subscribe monthly, or unlock the full SUS4 suite forever: unlimited live detection sessions and file analyses Everything runs on your device. No audio files are ever uploaded. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Helio Sequencer at none against SUS4 BPM's 1. Helio Sequencer also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). SUS4 BPM's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
