Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Cilex at 5.0 against HitProxy's 3.2. HitProxy's advantage is ratings volume (171 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Cilex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HitProxy has 171 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of HitProxy's written reviews are positive against 40% of Cilex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
HitProxy ships an update every 6 weeks, Cilex every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
