Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Quick Notes at 5.0 against OpenNotes's 4.3. OpenNotes's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (33% vs 0%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Quick Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. OpenNotes asks for nothing beyond the download.
Quick Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OpenNotes has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Quick Notes's written reviews are positive against 33% of OpenNotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Quick Notes ships an update every 3 weeks, OpenNotes every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
