Experience the hidden world of particles Quantum is a real-time particle life sandbox for exploring emergent motion, artificial physics, and complex systems. Build fields with up to 10,000 particles, tune how classes attract or repel each other, and watch simple rules turn into flowing structures, swarms, or chaotic patterns. Why Quantum stands out: - Real-time particle simulation with four interacting particle classes. - Seamless 2D fields and perspective 3D volumes with touch rotation. - Rule editor for custom attraction and repulsion matrices. - Temperature, viscosity, solid/fluid edge behavior, and force tools. - Black hole and white hole tools for live interaction. - Save and load fields, rule sets, and color schemes. - P3 color support and vivid visual presets for generative art. Use Quantum as a physics toy, creative sandbox, teaching aid, or generative art lab. It is built for people who enjoy science, cellular automata, n-body systems, chaos, and beautiful simulations.

Independent trainer for the four NERC System Operator Certification exams: RC, BT, TO and BI. Scored against the cut score, never a percentage. 1,224 original questions, timed mock papers, a control-room simulator. Power Grid Operator Exam Prep covers the four System Operator Certification examinations of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC): Reliability Coordinator (RC); Balancing, Interchange and Transmission (BT); Transmission Operator (TO); and Balancing and Interchange (BI). ONE BANK, FOUR CREDENTIALS All four examinations are drawn from the same six content domains and 31 knowledge areas; only the number of scored questions per area changes, and that table is published. Pick your credential and the app re-weights your readiness estimate, weak areas and mock papers. SCORED THE WAY THE EXAMINATION IS NERC passes candidates on an absolute cut score, not a percentage: 92 of 120 for RC and BT, 76 of 100 for TO and BI. So the headline figure is a projected score out of the paper, and weak areas are ranked by how many scored questions they are costing you. MOCK PAPERS SAMPLED TO THE OUTLINE A mock paper draws exactly the questions the content outline lists for each of the 31 knowledge areas, plus the 20 unscored trial items a real paper carries: 140 questions in three hours (120 on TO and BI). Flag and return, no feedback until you submit, then a full review with a reference on every question. THE CONTROL-ROOM SIMULATOR Take a shift at the BA, TOP or RC desk in nine scenarios, from a unit trip at the evening peak and an IROL exceedance to EEA 3, a lost EMS, voice paths down and an evacuated control room. One model runs the system and the clock stops at each decision: read the live displays, choose what to do or answer a three-part communication, then watch it play out. The debrief counts, never as a percentage, the obligations you met or missed against the standards' own clocks, and explains every decision. Every number is tagged as a NERC figure, a value your company or RC sets, or a model assumption. New numbers every run. Home opens on a scenario for your credential: one tap starts a shift. GENERATED DISPLAYS, NEW EVERY TIME • a six-bus one-line with flows, ratings and an N-1 contingency analysis report: find the worst contingency and decide what it obliges you to do; • a Balancing Authority AGC control board, with the ACE left for you to calculate. Plus twenty calculation drills. 1,224 ORIGINAL QUESTIONS Written from freely published sources (content outlines, the NERC Glossary and the enforceable Reliability Standards). Each is tagged recall, application or analysis. ONE FREE SHIFT, THEN ONE PAYMENT Try it free: 50 practice questions in any mode, one full mock paper, one simulator run of any scenario, and every Library card. Full Access is a single in-app purchase that unlocks every question, unlimited mock papers on all four credentials, every trainer and all nine scenarios. One-time, no subscription, on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. THE REST OF THE APP • 31 Library cards: seven must-know numbers and a short essay each • Keyboard shortcuts on iPad and Mac • Spaced repetition brings back what you miss • Works offline, and syncs through your own iCloud. No account, no data collected. • Light and dark, with a manual override NOT AFFILIATED Power Grid Operator Exam Prep is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, its Regional Entities, or Pearson VUE. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Power Grid Operator Exam Prep at every 4 days against Quantum's every 5 weeks. Quantum's advantage is ratings volume (150 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Quantum sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Power Grid Operator Exam Prep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Power Grid Operator Exam Prep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Quantum has 150 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Quantum ships an update every 5 weeks, Power Grid Operator Exam Prep every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
