Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Reading Tracker at Free against SpiceRack's $1.99. Reading Tracker also leads on rating (4.8 vs 1.0) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months). SpiceRack's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 89%) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). On ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Reading Tracker is free to download; SpiceRack costs $1.99 up front. Reading Tracker sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and SpiceRack sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Reading Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reading Tracker has 284 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Reading Tracker's written reviews are positive against 100% of SpiceRack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Reading Tracker ships an update every 8 days, SpiceRack every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
