Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Redzone at 4.0 against Plex Mobile's 3.0. Redzone also leads on monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). Plex Mobile's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 29%) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Redzone holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 83 and 20 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Redzone's written reviews are positive against 40% of Plex Mobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Redzone ships an update every 5 days, Plex Mobile monthly. Both last shipped on October 3, 2026.
