Founded by an Ivorian American born in the U.S - An app that lets you find Black Owned Businesses from the entire Black Diaspora conveniently in one place, and also lets you help the community through Mutual Aid. (Some people asked that I update the descriptions so people can know which ethnicity created the app before downloading, so people can choose whether they'd like to download it or not. This is the reason the descriptions and subtitles have been updated- not as a boast)

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Miiriya at every 4 days against AKIRA's fortnightly. Miiriya also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 47%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). AKIRA's advantage is ratings volume (2K vs 122) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
AKIRA holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AKIRA has 2K ratings behind it against 122, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of AKIRA's written reviews are positive against 67% of Miiriya's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AKIRA ships an update fortnightly, Miiriya every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
