Can't put your phone down? Run Your Time makes screen time something you earn. The app blocks your most distracting apps until you exercise. Work out for ten minutes, and you unlock ten minutes of screen time — one minute of activity for every minute on your phone. Run Your Time is a subscription app and begins with a free trial. If it isn't the right fit, you can cancel anytime in Settings. HOW IT WORKS Choose the apps you want blocked, such as social media or games. Complete a workout using any fitness app that syncs with Apple Health — Strava, Nike Run Club, Peloton, and Apple Watch workouts all count. Open Run Your Time, and your exercise minutes convert into screen time. When your time is up, your apps lock again automatically. WHAT'S INCLUDED Block unlimited apps, enforced by real iOS Screen Time Earn screen time from any workout and any fitness app Bank your earned time throughout the week and redeem it anytime through midnight Saturday Set a custom exchange rate, such as one minute of exercise for two minutes of screen time Pause a session and save the remaining time for later Track a live countdown in the Dynamic Island and on your Lock Screen STAY HONEST Ask a friend or partner to set the passcode. Without it, you can't unblock your apps or change the rules — real accountability, not a setting you can quietly switch off. Your health data never leaves your device. The app reads only your workout duration to credit your screen time. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Run Your Time at 5.0 against Steppin's 4.5. Steppin's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 40%) and ratings volume (156 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Run Your Time sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Steppin sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Run Your Time holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steppin has 156 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Run Your Time's written reviews are positive against 71% of Steppin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Run Your Time ships an update weekly, Steppin every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
