With the PhiloWelt app you prepare a philosophy lesson in a minute — and teach it with the whole class on their devices. Whether ethics, philosophy or values education: the app suits learners from year 5 to 10 at every type of school. Texts, tasks and worksheets are generated on the spot — matched to topic, school type and year group. It also works for international preparatory classes: all content is written with language support in mind and is available in German and English. TWO WAYS THROUGH A LESSON • PAPER MODE — ready-made worksheets for lessons with pen and paper • CLASS MODE — the whole class philosophises together on their devices SIX TOPICS FROM THE CURRICULUM Following the North Rhine-Westphalia curriculum for Practical Philosophy, changing with the year group: • Knowledge — perception and illusion · reality and the virtual • The self — person and personality · designs of the self • Responsibility — humans and nature · freedom and responsibility • Relationships — living together · community as a challenge • Justice — justice · participation and responsibility • Present and future — sustainable living, learning and development PAPER MODE — A WORKSHEET IN A MINUTE You pick topic and focus, the app produces an A4 worksheet: • Text with line numbers and three tasks at three levels • The same lesson in simplified language — differentiation without preparing twice • Board notes with answers, likely pupil responses and references to the line in the text • An opener for the lesson — audio and poster for the classroom display School type and year group come from the settings. Every sheet can be read, shared, printed or saved to a USB stick — and goes into the archive automatically, sorted by year group and topic. THE OPENER — FOR THE CLASSROOM DISPLAY Every worksheet can have an opener: a short spoken piece with a picture. It describes an everyday scene on the topic and ends with the question at its heart — as a person's thought, not as an instruction. The picture shows the same scene as a poster and carries the key terms. Connect the device in landscape, play it, leave the picture up: the control bar fades away. CLASS MODE — PHILOSOPHISING TOGETHER The teacher opens a digital classroom, pupils join with a four-digit room code. A lesson in four phases: OPENER — A picture and an audio piece tune the class into the topic. First thoughts are brought together in real time into one shared question. TEXT — It introduces the question and presents two opposing positions — matched to school type and year group. TASKS — Three tasks at three levels: recall, explain, judge. RESULT — Every answer is assessed, with concrete hints for improvement. The best answers are shown, all others stay anonymous. If a device loses its connection, one tap picks the lesson up again. Texts, answers and feedback are saved automatically. TRY IT WITHOUT A CODE You need no licence code to start. The first 30 requests are free, with no time limit — enough for several worksheets or a whole lesson. AT A GLANCE • Ready-made A4 worksheets with text, tasks and board notes • Assessment with individual feedback and a plausibility check • Language-sensitive wording for preparatory classes • Fully bilingual — pupils follow the teacher's language automatically The didactic basis is the teaching of non-fiction texts. More than 80,000 teachers and pupils in German-speaking countries have already used the previous version.
