Toasted Weather delivers real-time weather forecasts and life-saving storm warnings directly from the National Weather Service — completely free, with no ads and no subscription fees. Built for the communities along the I-20 corridor and throughout central Alabama, Toasted Weather puts accurate, government-sourced weather data right in your pocket. When severe weather threatens your neighborhood, Toasted Weather is the app that won't stay silent. REAL-TIME FORECASTS FROM THE SOURCE Toasted Weather pulls data directly from the National Weather Service API — the same source that powers every professional forecast in the country. No third-party data brokers, no upsells, just the official forecast for your exact location. • Current conditions updated every 15 minutes • 24-hour hourly forecast • 7-day outlook with day and night temperatures • Wind speed and direction • Accurate sky condition icons that match actual NWS reports CRITICAL STORM WARNINGS THAT WAKE YOU UP When the National Weather Service issues a Tornado Warning, Severe Thunderstorm Warning, or Flash Flood Warning for your area, Toasted Weather fires a Critical Alert — the highest-priority notification on iPhone. Critical Alerts bypass Do Not Disturb and the mute switch entirely. Your phone will sound the alarm even at 3 AM with the volume off. This is the feature that matters most in Alabama. • Tornado Warnings → Critical Alert (bypasses mute and Do Not Disturb) • Severe Thunderstorm Warnings → Critical Alert • Flash Flood Warnings → Critical Alert • All other NWS watches and advisories → Standard notification • Alerts deduplicated so you are never spammed for the same event • Badge count reflects number of active critical alerts SET YOUR HOME LOCATION Save your home address for persistent storm monitoring. Background checks run every 15 minutes so alerts reach you even when the app is closed. Toasted Weather checks specifically for warnings that cover your home coordinates — not just your county, your exact location. BUILT FOR ALABAMA Alabama consistently ranks among the most tornado-vulnerable states in the country. The communities of the I-20 corridor — from Birmingham through Talladega, Anniston, and beyond — know that severe weather can arrive fast and with little warning. Toasted Weather was designed with this reality in mind. HALF-EATEN TOAST LLC Toasted Weather is a free community app from Half-Eaten Toast LLC, an independent app studio based in Talladega, Alabama. We build apps for the people around us. There are no investors to satisfy, no ad network to feed, and no premium tier to unlock. Toasted Weather is free because your safety shouldn't have a paywall. PRIVACY Toasted Weather uses your location only to fetch your local forecast and alerts from the National Weather Service. Your location is never stored on our servers, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising. Location data goes directly from your device to api.weather.gov and nowhere else. REQUIREMENTS • iPhone running iOS 17 or later • Location access (When In Use or Always) for automatic forecast • Notification permission for storm warnings • Internet connection for forecast updates
