Hebrew Worship is an app allowing you to learn Hebrew (or just understand it for a start) without studying, by watching Jewish liturgy videos. So you can listen to beautiful cantorial music and learn Hebrew in the process, without studying by rote. It provides translation time-synchronized word-to-word. The app keeps track of the words you know. Words that you need to learn are color-coded to get you immediate visual association between Hebrew and English words. Other words have color underline: green, if you already know it, or red, suggesting that you can learn it later. If you miss a word or need more time to read a line, tap the video - it will repeat the line in a loop until you tap again. Seamless music loops help you master difficult passages. Selecting Quiz in Settings (available on the video screen) gets you a quick quiz after each stanza to reinforce learning. The quiz takes just a few seconds, to minimize interrupting the experience. Once you guess a word correctly in a quiz, the word becomes green, is considered known. You can also tap any word and change its color manually. You can add words to your word list by tapping a word and tapping the star icon on the dictionary popup. In addition to in-video quizzes, you can train vocabulary with flashcards and multiple choice questions. As in in-video quizzes, three right guesses in multiple choice questions make the word known. You can do these exercises both in a video and in your word list.

Learn the vocabulary of the New Testament โ€” all 5,483 words โ€” through the screens you already look at dozens of times a day. HOW IT WORKS โ€ข New words appear on your lock screen with their meaning, several times through the day โ€” no app to open. โ€ข The Recall widget on your home screen quizzes you: read the Greek, tap to check, then grade yourself. โ€ข Every PASS stretches the next review out (1, 3, 7, 14, 30, 90, 180 days). Every โ†บ brings the word back sooner. Miss a word two days running and it returns to the lock screen for relearning. A REAL DICTIONARY BEHIND EVERY WORD Tap any word for its full entry: the Middle Liddell definition, the forms that actually occur in the New Testament with their parsing, its frequency across the Septuagint, the Apostolic Fathers and wider Greek literature โ€” and every NT verse it appears in, with translation. MADE TO BE SUSTAINABLE โ€ข A two-minute placement test finds where you should start. โ€ข Choose which days introduce new words โ€” take Saturdays off. โ€ข Reviews are capped and smoothed automatically, so the backlog can never snowball. โ€ข Words common in the Septuagint and the Fathers but rare in the NT are woven in, so your Greek grows beyond the canon. ALSO INCLUDED Hebrew and Latin vocabulary decks, and Hebrew verb-form drilling, available under Manage Languages. Built by a student of the biblical languages, on the conviction that the lock screen is the best flashcard you own.
