MetroPacer vs Always Pause

MetroPacer turns your Apple Watch — or iPhone — into the ultimate running companion. Track your pace, cadence, heart rate, and distance in real time, while hitting your goals with guided workouts. On iOS 26 or later, you can now run with just your iPhone — no Apple Watch required. Enjoy the same accurate tracking, goal-based training, and spoken feedback directly from your phone. Take your runs further with goal-based training, live metrics, and spoken cues. Set targets for distance, duration, or calories, and add warmup and cooldown phases. Monitor your heart rate zones, cadence, and pace, with auto-pause and easy-to-read live screens optimized for both Apple Watch and iPhone. Post-run, dive into detailed metrics: interactive maps, pace, heart rate, and elevation charts, interval analysis, and key statistics. Customize your metrics screens, choose background colors or heart rate zone colors, and tap cells to cycle through the stats you care about most. Features include: • Run with Apple Watch or iPhone (iOS 26+) • Start open runs or goal-based workouts (distance, duration, calories) • Optional warmup and cooldown phases with targets • Live metrics: distance, pace, duration, cadence, heart rate, power, stride, elevation, and more • Spoken feedback for distance, time, pace, cadence, and heart rate zones • Automatic heart rate zone estimation from Health data • Auto-pause, lock screen, and workout controls on Apple Watch • Interactive post-run maps with route, pace, heart rate, and altitude • Detailed interval and split analysis • Weather display for outdoor runs Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner, MetroPacer helps you run smarter, track better, and improve consistently — now with the flexibility to run with or without Apple Watch.
