Ulzii is an instrument for fingertip meditation, inspired by Mongolian throat-singing (khoomei) and the tradition of drone music. At its core is continuous tuning, free from the twelve equal-tempered Western scale. Two ribbons let you freely set the pitch of two voices; touching the central pad shapes the color of that voice's resonance (like a vowel) depending on where you touch.
