DIGILOG CAMERA is a camera app built around image development rather than effects. Instead of applying filters, each frame is processed through a custom pipeline starting from the sensor’s linear signal: color space handling, gamma shaping, color balance, and a final look designed to behave predictably. The app is informed by years of color grading work in DaVinci Resolve, with the goal of bringing a disciplined, film-oriented approach to image creation on the iPhone. DIGILOG supports open-gate recording and professional codecs such as ProRes 422 and H.264, allowing more control over framing and post-production than the standard camera app, even on older devices. DIGILOG is not about style presets. It’s a practical exploration of how light, color, and code interact.

MotionCam Pro is for creators who want more from their phone camera. Capture RAW video, RAW photos, DirectLog video, time-lapse and burst sequences, then render or process your footage with a workflow built for grading and real post-production. Most phones shape the image through a default processing pipeline, giving footage a fixed “phone look” before you ever start editing. MotionCam Pro is built around RAW sensor data, so you can monitor the signal, protect highlights and shape the final image yourself. Made for filmmakers, photographers and curious creators who want to learn, test, take control and keep improving their images. Capture with more control: - RAW video capture from the camera sensor - RAW photo, burst and time-lapse modes - DirectLog video for real-time RAW-to-LOG recording - In-app rendering and export workflows - ProRes, HEVC / H.265 and professional post-production options Expose with confidence: - RAW histogram - Sensor clipping map by RGB channel - False color monitoring - Focus peaking - Direct Preview to see the pipeline before recording Shape your look: - ACES color pipeline - DCP profiles - LUT support - Wide-gamut workflows - LOG outputs for grading in professional tools Continue your workflow beyond the phone: - Render on device - Process footage on desktop with MotionCam Tools for PC and macOS - Export for professional editing and color grading workflows Join more than 10,000 MotionCam users in the community to learn, test, share workflows and improve your results: https://discord.gg/Vy4gQNEdNS

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Digilog Camera at Free against MotionCam Pro's $29.99. Digilog Camera also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (18 vs 3). MotionCam Pro's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (82% vs 67%). On ads, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Digilog Camera is free to download; MotionCam Pro costs $29.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Digilog Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Digilog Camera has 18 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Digilog Camera's written reviews are positive against 82% of MotionCam Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Digilog Camera ships an update every 2 months, MotionCam Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
