2Sets — Make Them Count. Train with purpose. 2Sets brings a low-volume approach to strength training: two focused working sets per exercise. Aim for 12 reps in set one and 10 in set two, with an optional third set of 8. Abs finish the workout with targets of 15/12 reps and an optional third set of 10. Warm-up guidance is separate. Plan focused sessions, record your effort, and follow your progress without adding unnecessary sets. BUILD YOUR ROUTINE Choose 3–6 training days per week with beginner or intermediate guidance. Choose a training split and adjust your workout queue when your schedule changes. Reorder circuits, move a busy machine to later, and return without losing saved sets. Browse exercises by muscle, similar movement, or the full catalog. TRACK EVERY SET Log weight, repetitions, and private notes. Recommended reps are prefilled. Correct saved weights and reps, then review your workout history and total logged weight × repetitions. Completed circuits collapse to keep your session tidy. REST WITH PURPOSE Use exercise-specific rest countdowns, adjust rest by 15 seconds, and follow sounds and spoken cues while the app is open. Optional notifications alert you when rest ends. LEARN THE MOVEMENTS View start-and-finish exercise illustrations, written instructions, and zoomable guides. Exercise illustrations are AI-generated. SEE YOUR PROGRESS Review your completed sets, workout time, total lifted weight, and personal records in a workout recap. Keep a private 30-day photo journal with weekly reminders. With at least two photos, create a transformation video when you open the app after day 30. Sharing and promotional permission are optional. The optional effort score reflects your own rating; it is not a validated fitness measurement. Finish early or cancel a workout at any time. You can also rate the workout experience and choose to email improvement suggestions to the developer. With your permission, save completed strength workouts and their duration to Apple Health. Automatic saving is optional and off by default. TRAIN WITH APPLE WATCH View the current exercise, enter weight and reps, save sets, and follow rest countdowns from the companion app. With permission, receive live heart-rate readings and a spoken Cedar cue once per circuit when a recent reading is available. Requires watchOS 9 or later and a paired, reachable iPhone. KEEP YOUR MUSIC CLOSE Open your preferred external music app through convenient shortcuts. Music is provided by that service and may require its own subscription. YOUR WORKOUT RECORDS STAY ON YOUR DEVICE Workout logs, notes, and progress photos are stored locally. No 2Sets account is required. Optionally sign in with Apple to create a profile with a name, username and thumbnail. Manage or delete your account in Profile. Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Dose at none against 2Sets's shown. Dose also leads on ratings volume (100 vs 4). 2Sets's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and review sentiment (100% vs 75%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Dose sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and 2Sets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
2Sets holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dose has 100 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Dose's written reviews are positive against 100% of 2Sets's.
Dose ships an update every 2 weeks, 2Sets every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
