About

Stepmit

Features

Your steps and activity, like a terminal log. Stepmit isn't your typical fitness app. It's an activity log with a developer's sensibility β€” for people who want to keep their daily activity in the style of a contribution graph and a terminal. Everything on screen is a custom terminal UI drawn with a monospace font and ASCII blocks. β–  Activity is automatic, records are a 'commit' Steps, distance, calories, and floors appear automatically from Apple Health. Attaching a type and a one-line note to a day is what Stepmit calls a 'commit'. Committed days stack up as a log you can revisit anytime or share as a card. β–  Step contribution graph See a month of step activity as a block heatmap. Watch it fill in and read your whole month at a glance. β–  Records, made richer Β· diff β€” when you commit, see the change versus the same time yesterday, in green/red. Β· Monthly release β€” a card that sums up the month's activity, like a 'git tag'. Β· On this day β€” meet your records from 1 year, 6 months, and 1 month ago today. Β· Images as block art β€” attach a photo to a record and, instead of the original, it's converted into 8-level block art in your current theme colors. (The original photo is never stored or transmitted.) β–  Color themes Several terminal color themes. Switch a theme and the graph, mascot, and block art recolor together. β–  Share cards Render a record as a terminal-style card to share or save as an image. Choose to include the hourly graph or block art, plus the diff. β–  Light, and private Β· Apple Health is read-only Β· no server Β· no tracking, ads, or account Β· Records sync only to your private iCloud (CloudKit) Β· No background location tracking. β€” For developers, for tech folks, and for anyone who responds to a contribution graph and a monospace font.
