Vespera trains the craft of working a bar. Its heart is a shift simulator: tickets arrive, guests wait, stock runs out, and someone has had enough. You choose what to do next, every choice costs time, and the debrief afterwards scores seven dimensions of the work — accuracy, efficiency, prioritisation, guest communication, station management, responsible service and recovery explaining every score against what actually happened on your shift. Ninety-six shift scenarios across ten kinds of room: the quiet hotel bar, the craft cocktail bar, the restaurant service well, the nightclub, the private event, the alcohol-free led bar, opening, closing, last call and the rush. Refusing service, calming a table, writing an incident note and knowing when to call a manager are part of the work here, not an appendix to it. Around the simulator: • Thirty-eight lessons, from first principles to working a rush. • Twenty-nine knowledge checks and nine drills, with spaced repetition that brings back what you are about to forget. • Eleven guided conversations for rehearsing the things that are hard to say. • A competency profile built from what you did, not what you claimed. And a library of 466 recipes written for training rather than browsing, each with honest provenance: search it, filter by level, save what you are working on, and keep your own notes. Beside it sit three venue collections — 76 drinks in each venue's own order, every one opening to a full Vespera training spec built from the ingredients the venue lists. In English, Spanish and French. Light and dark. iPhone and iPad. Vespera is honest about what it is: training, not certification. It never judges whether a real person is intoxicated or fit to drive, and venue policy and local law always come first.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Vespera at none against MapTap.gg's 2. MapTap.gg's advantage is ratings volume (16K vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.
