Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: MeshCoreScanner at 100% against Vantij's 50%. MeshCoreScanner also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). Vantij's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Vantij sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. MeshCoreScanner asks for nothing beyond the download.
Vantij holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Vantij's written reviews are positive against 100% of MeshCoreScanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Vantij ships an update every 4 days, MeshCoreScanner monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
