YOKI Camera

YOKI Camera is an effector camera that applies the concept of guitar effects to photography. Guitar effects are not devices for making sound clean or correct. They distort, delay, and modulate sound, changing it mid-performance to create expression and structure itself. YOKI Camera translates this idea into photography. Light is treated as an input signal and processed through effectors at the moment of capture, producing the photograph in real time. 【A camera for “playing” photographs】 YOKI Camera is not designed for those who want automatic, polished images or effortless memory-keeping. Instead, it is a camera for those who want to receive light as a signal and enjoy unpredictable, chance-driven changes as they happen. Photography here is not a task aimed at a finished result, but an improvisational act of engaging with light itself. YOKI Camera was born from this way of thinking. 【A camera with a different goal from filters and post-processing】 Most camera apps and editing tools focus on refining the appearance of images after they are captured. That is not where YOKI Camera’s interest lies. What matters is experiencing how the signal of light changes immediately after the shutter is pressed. The act of witnessing transformation, rather than polishing a result, becomes the photographic experience. 【A shooting experience that treats light as an input signal】 YOKI Camera receives light as a signal and alters its behavior through effectors. Effectors do not produce the same result every time. Their response changes according to the intensity and fluctuation of light. As a result, even with the same setup, each shot reveals a slightly different expression. 【Enjoying change that includes chance】 While settings and configurations can shape tendencies, results can never be fully fixed. What happens in that moment is captured as a one-time expression. Rather than reproducibility, YOKI Camera values receiving the reaction that emerges in the instant it occurs. 【Receiving visual stimuli before meaning】 Photos created with YOKI Camera are not meant to explain or describe their subjects. Instead, they emphasize visual stimuli that exist before meaning—form, brightness, fluctuation, and rhythm. 【Exploring composition by rearranging effectors】 Multiple effectors are placed on a board, reordered, and adjusted while shooting. Which effectors are used, and in what order, dramatically changes how light responds. Change the configuration, try again, and shoot once more. This repetition itself becomes the photographic experience. 【Effectors available from the start】 YOKI Camera comes with essential effectors ready to use immediately after installation. These form the foundation for experiencing light as a signal. – EQ (Equalizer) Adjusts brightness and tonal balance, shaping which bands of the signal are emphasized. It forms the base of the overall structure and influences how subsequent effectors respond. – Distortion Distorts the signal of light, breaking contours and tonal gradations to create rough, tense expressions. Its response changes with the intensity of incoming light, making chance especially noticeable. – Reverb Creates afterimages and overlaps of light, adding spatial depth and lingering resonance. It captures not only the subject, but the sense of light remaining in the space. These effectors can be used individually or in combination. Even with this basic setup alone, you can explore manipulating light, changing structure, and observing how it reacts. 【About the Effector Store】 If you wish to expand your expressive range, you can add new effectors through the store. Only what you choose is added—there is no need to purchase anything you do not need.

Lumière is a canvas you arrange your photos on. Bring photos in from your library, or take one with the instant camera — the print slides out of the camera just like real instant film and develops in front of you. When it's done it lands on the canvas, where you can drag it into place, press and hold to pin it, double-tap for a closer look, or turn it over and type a note about that day, displayed in a handwriting font. Photos don't have to sit in a tidy list. Arrange them the way the days actually felt. When you want to take a moment out of the app, make it a postcard, a calendar or a framed picture — or keep a corner of the canvas on your home screen. · A canvas of your own Pan and zoom the canvas, drag the prints anywhere, press and hold to pin, double-tap to look closer. Spread a whole trip across it, or let everyday fragments gather slowly. Tidy it in one tap when it gets messy; drag a print to the bottom and let go, and it scatters into warm dust — undoable at any time. · Take one, and let it develop Press the shutter and the print slides out, developing in front of you. Tap the emerging print to place it on the canvas sooner. Sixteen film looks and eight paper styles give each moment its own texture. The paper you choose also sets the colour of the letter page on the back. · Turn it over, write that day down Put how it felt on the back of the photo. Three handwriting faces and six ink colours — dark brown, slate blue, pine green, crimson, wisteria, gilt — so the words become part of the photo too. · One photo, seven ways to mount it Classic, Letter, Verse, Daily, Framed, Calendar and Postcard. The new Postcard style holds both sides of a postcard in one image: the photo itself on the front; on the back a stamp, a postmark, your note on ruled lines and a signature. Paper and ink colours are drawn from the photo, and even the stamp is a thumbnail of this very photo. Save the finished image to your library, or share it as it is. · Every month has a canvas of its own Photos file themselves by month. Go back to last month and the prints, and everything you wrote, are still where you left them. · Home screen widget Drag and pinch the canvas until the corner you want sits inside the frame, then keep it on your home screen. · Date stamp Tap the corner of the viewfinder and the date is burned into the bottom of the print in small quartz-orange type. Free, always. Available in 简体中文, English, 日本語 and 한국어, switchable inside the app at any time. Every photo and every word stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded. No ads, no account. About Lumière Pro Taking photos, importing from your library, the canvas, notes, monthly archives, the date stamp, the home screen widget, and saving or sharing in the Classic and Calendar styles all work without Pro.
