App Description (English) Plan your wood cuts efficiently and reduce waste before you start cutting or buying materials. This app helps you prepare clear, optimised cut plans for woodworking and DIY projects, whether you are working with linear elements (planks) or sheet materials (panels). It is designed as a practical planning tool for DIYers, makers, and professionals who want reliable layouts and better control over off-cuts. -Choose between plank projects (linear elements such as boards, battens, or strips) and sheet projects (panels and boards). Each project type uses an optimisation approach adapted to the material. -Generate cut layouts that organise your parts efficiently, taking kerf width into account and aiming to minimise off-cuts and material waste. -By visualising how parts fit into your available material, you can reduce unnecessary waste, optimise purchases, and make more sustainable use of wood. -View detailed cut plans with dimensions, kerf lines, and off-cut areas clearly identified, making the cutting process easier to follow in the workshop. -Save your projects to revisit them later, duplicate setups, or adjust dimensions as your project evolves. Load previous projects at any time to continue where you left off. -Export your full project as a multi-page PDF, including all cut plans and detailed information. Ideal for sharing, printing, shopping lists, or tracking progress on site or in the workshop. Stop guessing how to break down a sheet. Enter your panel sizes and your part list, and Sawgrid works out the layout that gets the most out of every board. Built for cabinetmakers, joiners, furniture makers, metal fabricators, laser and CNC shops, and anyone who buys material by the full sheet. Every cut Sawgrid produces runs edge to edge across the panel, which is exactly what a table saw or a panel saw can actually execute. WHAT SAWGRID DOES - 2D panel nesting built only from through cuts your saw can follow - 1D length cutting for trim, tube, bar and profile, in the same project - Runs all 108 optimisation strategies and keeps the best result - Edge trim on the outside edges counted exactly, never estimated - Every requested part is either placed or reported with a reason. Nothing is dropped in silence - Millimetres, centimetres and inches, including fractions like 2' 6 3/4 SAWGRID PRO - Multi page PDF with the cut map, part list, cut sequence and labels, plus the cut list as CSV - Your own saw kerf, instead of the fixed 3 mm every free plan is solved with - Grain direction per part: free to rotate, forced lengthwise or forced crosswise - Several materials and thicknesses in one project, one run, separate plans per material - More than one saved project, side by side - Saw table mode: the next cut shown large, the screen stays awake, tick each cut off - Offcut stock that gets used up before you open a fresh sheet - Thorough optimisation: a second pass that often saves another panel on a big job Pro is available as a subscription or as a one time purchase. Calculating layouts is free, for as many parts and panels as a real job has, and a free plan is the whole plan: the cut map, the utilisation and the area balance. Free works on one project at a time, with one material in it, and a fixed 3 mm saw kerf that the result screen states every time. Everything is computed on your device. There is no account and no project leaves the phone. Only the advertising in the free version needs a connection, and Pro carries none. Sawgrid works in a basement workshop with no signal.
