ToneScope helps you see and understand sound in real time. ToneScope transforms complex audio into visual representations that are easy to interpret. Whether you're exploring music, investigating environmental noise, or simply curious about the sounds around you, ToneScope makes sound easier to understand. It uses a multirate FFT approach to achieve high frequency resolution at low frequencies while remaining efficient for real-time use on iOS. Users can analyze audio in real time or record sound locally and analyze it later. All processing is performed entirely on-device. Optional audio recordings are saved locally under user control. No data is transmitted, uploaded, or collected. Designed and developed by Newton Niu.

About

Live Spectrum Analyzer

Features

Live Spectrum Analyzer is a real-time audio visualization tool for musicians, students, teachers, sound makers, and anyone who wants to see sound clearly. Use the microphone for live input, or import an audio file from Files to inspect how frequency, amplitude, pitch, and dynamics change over time. Switch between waveform, FFT, sonogram, spectrum bars, VU meter, pitch, octave bands, peak hold, envelope, waterfall, phase, Lissajous, and XY Scope views. Each mode is designed for quick visual reading while you listen, tune, practice, demonstrate acoustics, compare sounds, or check a recording. The app also provides practical analysis readouts, including RMS, peak level, decibels, detected pitch, strongest frequency peaks, spectral centroid, zero crossing rate, dynamic range, estimated BPM, beat strength, mel bands, chroma, noise floor, and clipping status. Results are intended as helpful visual references rather than certified measurement data. Key features: • Live microphone waveform and spectrum visualization • Import audio files for playback and local visual analysis • Waveform, FFT, sonogram, bars, VU, pitch, waterfall, phase, and scope modes • Adjustable gain, time window, FFT floor, sonogram brightness, contrast, and speed • Pitch reference, tolerance, microphone gain, and noise gate settings • Record audio locally, review saved recordings, and share or delete files • Capture visualization snapshots as PNG images • Local-first workflow with no account required Subscription and purchase information: The app offers a free experience and optional Pro access. Actual prices, trials, promotions, and availability are shown in the App Store. Privacy and data information: Your microphone input, imported audio, recordings, snapshots, and analysis results stay on your device by default. The app does not require an account and does not upload your media to a server operated by us.
