Nagi vs Kairox

Most focus timers try really hard to keep you engaged. Streaks, badges, leaderboards, trees you have to keep alive. At some point the app itself becomes the distraction. Nagi is different. It's just a timer. Instead of numbers ticking down, you see time as a 30x30 dot-matrix pattern that fills in gradually — abstract, calm, and completely free from the anxiety of watching seconds disappear. When your session ends, you get a gentle notification. That's it. No guilt if you skip a day. No rewards for showing up. Just honest, quiet focus. WHAT YOU GET - A unique dot-matrix time display that shows progress without pressure - Pomodoro sessions with three built-in presets (25/50/90 min focus) - Automatic work-to-break transitions so you don't have to think about it - Tag your sessions (Work, Study, Creative, Exercise, Personal) to see where your time goes - Today's session timeline at a glance - Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for your daily and weekly focus - Live Activities and Dynamic Island show your session without opening the app - Light and dark themes using Catppuccin palettes — warm colors that are easy on the eyes - Notification sounds you can customize or turn off entirely - Works offline. Always. WHAT YOU WON'T FIND - No streaks or daily goals - No points, badges, or achievements - No leaderboards or social features - No account sign-up - No cloud tracking - No ads, ever NAGI PRO Nagi is free to use. An optional Nagi Pro subscription unlocks: - Custom focus and break durations (any length you want) - Custom tags for your sessions - Full session history and weekly insights Available as a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store account settings. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Everything is stored locally on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no servers collecting your focus habits. Your sessions are nobody's business but your own. WHY "NAGI"? 凪 (nagi) is Japanese for a calm, windless sea. That's the feeling we're going for — focus that feels like stillness, not a race. Built by one person who got tired of focus apps that felt like productivity homework. If you just want a timer that works and stays out of your way, this is it. --- Pomodoro Technique® is a registered trademark of Francesco Cirillo. Kairox Kairox is a screen time and digital wellness app designed to help you break doomscrolling habits by making distracting apps something you unlock, not something you open automatically. Choose the apps that waste the most time, complete exercises like push-ups, squats, or lunges, and earn a limited amount of access. Kairox helps you interrupt mindless scrolling, move more throughout the day, and use social media more intentionally. Kairox requires an active subscription to access and use the app. There is no free version or permanently free content. SUBSCRIPTIONS Kairox offers the following subscription options: Monthly Subscription Provides full access to all Kairox features with a recurring monthly subscription. Yearly Subscription Provides full access to all Kairox features with a yearly subscription and includes a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the full yearly subscription price will be charged automatically. FEATURES INCLUDED WITH ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS BLOCK DISTRACTING APPS Select the social media and entertainment apps that distract you most. Kairox uses Apple’s Screen Time and Family Controls features to restrict access to the apps you choose. MOVE TO UNLOCK Complete push-ups, squats, or lunges to regain access to selected apps. Instead of receiving unlimited access, you unlock a specific amount of time before the restriction returns. CAMERA-BASED REP COUNTING Use your device’s camera during an active movement session so Kairox can recognize supported exercises and count completed repetitions. CUSTOM EARNING RULES Choose your exercise, set the number of required repetitions, and decide how much app access each completed session earns. BUILD STREAKS AND TRACK PROGRESS Stay consistent with streaks, milestones, exercise history, unlock history, and progress tracking. SCREEN TIME INSIGHTS Review your app usage, completed movement sessions, unlocked time, and long-term progress to better understand your habits. REMINDERS AND NOTIFICATIONS Receive exercise reminders, unlock alerts, streak updates, and notifications when your earned access is about to end. PERSONALIZED APP CONTROLS Choose which apps are restricted and adjust your movement, access, and notification preferences at any time. HOW IT WORKS Choose the apps you want Kairox to restrict. Select push-ups, squats, or lunges. Complete the required number of repetitions. Unlock a set amount of app access. When the earned time expires, the selected apps are restricted again. Complete another movement session whenever you want to regain access. PURCHASE DETAILS Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
