About

Parts Studio

Features

Parts Studio is a private, local-first reflection app for parts work between therapy sessions. Use gentle check-ins to notice what is active, build a visual map of your inner system, record what different parts may fear or need, and prepare a clear summary for your next therapy appointment. Parts Studio is inspired by parts-work approaches, including Internal Family Systems–informed ideas. It gives you structure for reflection without using an AI therapist to interpret your experiences. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your reflections are stored on your device by default. Parts Studio has: • No required account • No subscription • No advertisements • No analytics or behavioral tracking • No app server storing your reflections • No AI therapist On iOS, you can optionally create an encrypted backup in your private iCloud account. PREPARE FOR THERAPY It can be difficult to remember what happened between sessions or explain it clearly once an appointment begins. Parts Studio helps you capture: • What happened or activated you • Which parts seemed present • Emotions and body sensations • Fears, needs, beliefs, and protective intentions • Patterns you are beginning to notice • Questions or topics you want to bring to therapy Create a simple session-preparation summary that you can review, copy, or export when you choose. BUILD YOUR PARTS MAP Create detailed profiles for different parts of your inner system. You can add: • Names, emojis, and colors • Roles and protective intentions • Emotions and body cues • Triggers and recurring patterns • Fears, needs, and beliefs • History and notes • Relationships between parts • Optional local voice recordings Your map can develop gradually. You do not need to understand everything at once. GENTLE CHECK-INS One-question-at-a-time reflections help you slow down without facing a long worksheet or blank journal page. Use Parts Studio to: • Check in after a difficult moment • Explore an internal conflict • Notice when a familiar part returns • Record something before you forget it • Reconnect with a previously identified part GUIDED AND CREATIVE REFLECTION Use short, non-AI guided audio practices to pause, ground, and approach your experience with more space and curiosity. You can also explore parts through creative exercises such as written notes, letters, imagery, playlists, and recorded messages. YOUR DATA, YOUR CHOICE Parts Studio includes controls to download or remove your data. Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record a voice note. IMPORTANT Parts Studio is a reflection and organizational tool. It is not therapy, medical care, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or a replacement for a qualified mental health professional. The app is intended for gentle reflection and therapy preparation. Avoid using it for intense trauma processing, memory recovery, or any exercise that feels destabilizing. Pause and seek support when needed.
