About

StrideBuddy

Features

StrideBuddy is a training diary and Coach for competitive track athletes. Log your sessions, track your records, and build a training week around your event and season. Training plans follow modern periodization principles. This means changing the focus of training over time, while keeping the qualities your event needs. A TRAINING WEEK FOR YOUR SEASON Coach builds your week from your event, recent training, available days, and race calendar. It considers race priorities, recovery between demanding sessions, and gradual progression. Easier weeks are part of the plan. Returning after a break starts with a gradual return to training. Season status explains where you are in the season and what you are working toward. This week explains the focus of your next sessions. Each running or strength session explains why it belongs in the plan, how it should feel, and how it helps your event. Strength sessions include exercise guides. Coach may include time or pace targets when your results and training history support them. When your schedule changes, ask Coach to shorten a session, move it, or adjust the week if you cannot train. Read the proposed changes before choosing to use them. Coach uses AI to build plans within training rules for your event. It is an optional, free beta feature with usage limits. You need an internet connection and AI features enabled to build or change a plan. Saved plans and explanations remain available offline. LOG YOUR TRAINING IN DETAIL - Build structured sessions with blocks, reps, splits, and recoveries - Record continuous runs with distance, duration, pace, effort, and notes - Log strength work with exercises, sets, reps, load, or time - Save race results for flat, hurdles, and steeplechase events - Use Quick Note for drills, strides, warmups, or other training notes Record how hard a session felt, along with weather and surface. Structured sessions support flat reps, hurdles, steeplechase, hills, and active recoveries. PLAN SESSIONS AND RACES Schedule your own sessions ahead and log the results after training. Keep upcoming races in the calendar and set their importance for your season. KEEP PBS AND TRAINING RECORDS See your fastest reps and race results. Compare season and all-time records, and view your best times across distances. Hurdle reps have their own record groups, labeled by hurdle count and event spacing. Steeplechase reps stay separate from flat rep records. Your 400m and 400m hurdles race records stay separate too. SEE YOUR TRAINING HISTORY Today brings together your day, the week, and recent sessions. Browse earlier weeks and find sessions in Diary. In You, see weekly volume, training mix, and when you last logged each type of training. YOUR DIARY AND ACCOUNT StrideBuddy is free. An account is required. Sign in with Apple or Google to sync your diary across devices and restore it after reinstalling. Your saved diary remains available offline and syncs when you reconnect. Made for adult sprinters, hurdlers, middle-distance and distance runners, and steeplechasers. StrideBuddy supports your training decisions and does not replace your coach. It is not a medical device.
