iMeter Reader
Read full descriptionHide full description
iMeter Reader is the simple way to keep track of your electricity, gas and water meters. Add a meter, enter the reading by hand or by photo, and see how much energy you use β and roughly what it costs you. Energy contracts are optional add-ons you attach to a meter. Whether you rent, own your home or share a flat, iMeter Reader helps you document meter readings consistently and spot unusual consumption early. β WHAT iMETER READER DOES β β’ ELECTRICITY, GAS & WATER Track electricity and gas meters β and hot and cold water meters too. Single-tariff, dual-tariff (day/night) and β new β two-direction solar meters are supported. Manage your main home, holiday flat, small business or heat pump meter, all in parallel. β’ SOLAR / PV: TWO-DIRECTION METERS One meter, two registers: energy taken from the grid (1.8.0) and energy given to the grid (2.8.0). Enter an optional feed-in price on the contract and the app shows an approximate earned amount on the contract card and under the chart β always marked as approximate. β’ READINGS BY HAND OR BY PHOTO Type the reading in seconds β or let the optional AI read it from a photo of the meter display. Works with analog (Ferraris), digital and smart meters. β’ CAPTURE A CONTRACT OR INVOICE WITH AI Upload a PDF or photograph a paper contract or bill, and the optional AI fills the form: tariff name, provider, base price, price per kWh, annual consumption, monthly payment, contract length, notice period, price guarantee and bonuses. The app detects whether the document is a contract or an invoice. You review every field before saving. β’ AI ASSISTANT Ask the optional built-in assistant questions about your meters, contracts, bills and consumption in plain language. β’ RUNNING COSTS & USAGE PER CONTRACT The meter comes first β add a contract whenever you like. iMeter Reader then tracks the consumption inside the contract period, recalculated each time you add a reading dated within it. Enter your prices and it shows your approximate running costs and total usage to date β and alerts you before the contract ends or a price guarantee expires. β’ EMAIL YOUR PROVIDER Need to contact your energy provider? If they're listed in the app you can email them directly; if not, start from a built-in template. Your contract details and saved address are placed into the email automatically β you check it and send from your own mail app. Everything happens on your device. β’ USAGE CHARTS Bar, line or area charts per meter. Compare months and spot seasonal patterns at a glance β solar feed-in has its own colour. β’ READING REMINDERS PER METER Set a weekly, bi-weekly or every-4-weeks reminder for each meter. Tap the notification and the reading sheet for that meter opens. β’ GUIDED START A short walkthrough explains your first meter, your first reading, signing in and the contract form β step by step, skippable at any time. β’ YOUR DATA, YOUR DEVICE Readings stay on your device. Sign in only if you want a cloud backup of your meters, readings and contracts β the cloud icon shows the backup state. No forced sign-up, no ad networks, no tracking. AI is opt-in and runs on servers in Germany only, in line with the GDPR: your data never leaves Germany, is not stored by the AI service and is never used to train AI. Everything else works offline. Personal energy offers for your area β coming soon (Germany). Share iMeter Reader with friends straight from the app. Anonymous usage statistics (counts only) and crash reports can be turned off in Settings β Privacy. β WHO IT'S FOR β β’ Renters who want to check utility bills β’ Homeowners with heat pumps or solar PV β’ Flatshares with shared electricity, gas or water meters β’ Small businesses and home offices β’ Anyone who needs reliable usage data β ACCESSIBILITY & LANGUAGES β iMeter Reader is available in English, German, Arabic and Turkish β including full RTL layout for Arabic. Dynamic font sizes, high contrast and system dark mode are built in.

Meter is a reading log for every utility meter you are responsible for β at home, in a rented house, in your holiday flat. A READING IS A PHOTO Point the camera at the meter, tap, done. Meter recognizes the value in the picture, reads the meter number and assigns the reading to the right meter. Several meters in a row? Just keep shooting β analysis runs in the background. SEVERAL HOUSES, NO MESS Addresses and meters are created automatically as you take readings. Electricity, gas and water sit neatly side by side, sorted by house, each with its latest value. For every reading, Meter also notes the meter's manufacturer, model and condition β and you can overwrite that at any time. CONSUMPTION OVER TIME For every meter, Meter charts the daily consumption between two readings. Pinch with two fingers to zoom into a period; the scale adapts automatically. BACK UP AND MOVE All readings can be exported as CSV and imported again at any time β for your tax accountant, the utility bill or your next iPhone. WORKS IN THE BASEMENT No signal while reading? No problem. Photos are stored and analyzed as soon as you are back online. YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU No account, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking. Readings and photos live on your iPhone. For text recognition, only the meter photo itself is processed β no names, no identifiers. FREE, WITHIN FAIR USE Meter is free for private households. If you would like to use the photo analysis very heavily or commercially, please get in touch at hello@immca.de.
