TapPony
Read full descriptionHide full description
TapPony turns NFC tags into buttons for your own server. Tap a tag and your iPhone sends an HTTP request you designed, carrying the tag's ID, its chip details and whatever is written on it. Stickers, cards and labels you never wrote work too. There is no account and no TapPony server in between. The request goes from your phone straight to the address you typed, and your profiles, history and secrets stay on the device. What you can do: Design the request: method, URL, headers, and a JSON, form or plain body built from templates like {uid} and {payload}. Bearer, basic and API key authentication, and optional HMAC-SHA256 signing so your server can check each request. See the reply: pick a field from your server's answer and it shows large after each tap, or is read out loud for hands-free rounds. Route by tag: rules send each tag to the right profile by its ID, type, content or a name you gave it. Batch mode for tapping many tags in a row, and an offline queue that sends scans in order once you're back online. Write your own tags: links, text, or a TapPony launch link that opens the app and sends even when it's closed. Start a scan from anywhere with a control, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and automation actions that hand a tag's ID and content to your own automations. History stays on the device, with CSV export. Plain HTTP only goes to addresses on your own network, and only when you turn it on for that profile. Secrets are kept in the Keychain and never appear in history or exports. Available in English, German, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese. TapPony is free and open source. Setup guides and receiver examples are at tappony.app.
