Shadow a native speaker — not after them, at the same time. Language Mirror is a shadowing app for Korean and English learners. You import real audio, clip the phrases that matter, and speak simultaneously with the recording until your pronunciation stops being a translation and starts being a reflex. This is not listen-then-repeat. This is simultaneous shadowing — the method used by interpreters, polyglots, and serious language learners to internalize rhythm, intonation, and natural cadence. Language Mirror is built around it. HOW IT WORKS 1. Import audio from files, video, recordings, or the Share Sheet. 2. Create clips — select the exact phrases you want to shadow. 3. Shadow and speak — loop each clip and speak along at the same time as the native speaker. 4. Use Progression mode to automatically ramp from slow to natural speed across repeats — progressive overload, applied to your ear and your mouth. 5. Track your progress — play counts and position are saved per clip so you pick up where you left off. PROGRESSION MODE Start slow. End natural. Progression mode automatically ramps playback speed across repeats so you can shadow comfortably at first, then gradually match a native speaker's real pace. This is the arc: slow shadowing → comfortable shadowing → full-speed shadowing → fluency. BUILT FOR FOCUS - Clean, calm interface with minimal distractions - No feed, no streaks, no social pressure - Transcript alignment shows timed text as you shadow - Favorites and quick-resume from the Practice tab FOR KOREAN & ENGLISH LEARNERS Whether you're an English speaker drilling Korean drama clips or a Korean speaker shadowing English podcasts — Language Mirror is built for you. Bring your own material: K-drama clips, podcast segments, lecture recordings, song verses — anything with audio becomes a shadowing exercise. Works with any language. Korean and English are where we start. PRIVATE BY DESIGN - Fully offline after import - No account required - No data collection - Everything stays on your device

About

Shadowing Language Practice

Features

Shadowing is a focused, no-frills audio player for language-shadowing practice — the technique of listening to native speech and repeating it out loud to build pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation. The app is built around three things: • Use your own MP3s. Drop a folder of audio into iCloud Drive on your computer; the app reads it directly on your iPhone. No uploads, no accounts, no servers. • Practice at your pace. Choose playback speeds from 0.5× to 2.0×. Loop a track or a whole playlist. Skip back 15 seconds with one tap. • Stay focused. The app does one thing — play audio for shadowing — without distractions. No ads, no analytics, no social features. WHAT'S INCLUDED • Bundled sample audio in three languages (English, Spanish, French) so you can try the app immediately without setup. All public-domain recordings from LibriVox. • Playlists you can reorder, rename, and add to with a swipe. • Resume playback exactly where you left off, on every track. • Background audio with full lock-screen and Control Center support. • Two home-screen widgets: a 4-tile recent-playlists view and a small one-tap favorite-playlist tile. PRIVACY The app does not collect, track, or transmit any user data. All playlists, preferences, and playback state are stored on your device. Audio content from your folders stays in your iCloud Drive — the app never uploads it. See the privacy policy at: https://yudataguy.github.io/shadowing-app/privacy-policy WHO IT'S FOR Language learners practicing shadowing. Anyone who wants a clean, fast way to play a focused set of MP3s — podcasts, audiobook excerpts, pronunciation drills, dialogue clips — without an algorithmic library shoving content at them.
