Track a meal in less than 10 seconds, then get back to your day. BasicPlate is a calorie and macro tracker for people who've downloaded every other calorie counter, used it for a week, and deleted it. The problem was never willpower — it's that logging food is tedious. So we made it simpler. BasicPlate is the calorie tracking app that includes everything you need and nothing you don't. Building mindful eating habits shouldn't be frustrating. Your tools should help you get the job done without getting in the way, and that's why we built BasicPlate. Snap a photo, leave a voice note, or type a quick line — "about two cups, cooked in olive oil" — and combine any of them before the AI estimates your meal. A photo alone can't tell you how something was cooked or how big that serving actually was. That context is what makes the number accurate, and it's the part most AI food trackers skip. --- What's Inside: - AI food logging by photo, voice, or text, in any combination - Barcode scanner for packaged foods - Daily calorie and macro tracking — protein, carbs, fat, against your targets - Custom recipes: describe them out loud, build them by hand, or paste a URL to import the whole thing in a few seconds - Recipes remember their serving size, so logging a half portion is one tap - Workout logging that turns a description of your session into a calorie-burn estimate - Apple Health sync to track your activity data against your goals - One-tap water tracking - Weight, measurements, and progress photos, so you're watching a trend, not just today's number Whether you're cutting, building muscle, holding steady, or just trying to eat with a little more awareness, BasicPlate is built to be the food diary you're still using in six months — not the one buried on page three of your home screen. Free to download, with a free trial included. After the trial, a subscription unlocks unlimited AI logging, unlimited recipes, and full progress history. Monthly and annual plans available. Measure the proportions that shape your V-taper, track real progress, and keep your nutrition targets in one focused app. V-TAPER ANALYSIS Take or choose a front-facing body photo. On-device pose and segmentation models estimate shoulder and waist widths, calculate your waist-to-shoulder ratio, and show a benchmark-based result with a clear breakdown. TRACK WHAT CHANGES - V-Taper ratio and score - Shoulder, waist, and head-width breakdowns - Trend views designed to separate meaningful change from normal camera variation - Goal-based next actions for your limiting area - Individual scan deletion and private on-device history NUTRITION, WITHOUT THE CLUTTER Set calorie and macro targets, log meals, and keep meal photos with each entry. When you explicitly choose AI Meal Scan, the selected meal photo is securely sent for Gemini-powered calorie and macro estimation. Review and edit every estimate before saving. Manual entries stay on your device. ORDER FROM A MENU Eating out, photograph the menu instead of a plate. Menu Picks reads up to four pages and returns three dishes worth ordering and one to skip, chosen from what you have left today: your remaining calories, your remaining protein, and your shape goal. Log any pick as a meal in one tap. Menu photos are not saved to your meal log. FOUR WAYS TO LOG A MEAL Logging starts from the middle of the tab bar: photograph a menu, photograph a plate, describe the meal in words, or enter the numbers yourself. Describing it takes what you write literally, so "chicken 100 g" is 100 grams and not a guessed serving. Every AI estimate opens in the same editor for you to check and correct before it is saved. PRIVACY BY DESIGN Body scans are processed on device and are not uploaded for body analysis. Meal and menu photos are uploaded only when you choose AI Meal Scan or Menu Picks, and the app tells you what is sent and who receives it before the first upload. You can delete saved scans, meals, photos, or all local data from the app. MEASURE CONSISTENTLY For useful comparisons, use similar lighting, distance, camera height, and pose. Results are estimates for fitness progress tracking and are not medical advice. V-Taper Pro is a required auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the app after your personalized plan is prepared, including full analysis, trends, nutrition tools, and unlimited scans. Weekly and yearly plans are available; prices are shown in your local App Store currency before purchase. You can manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.
