Rotunda Civics

Rotunda is a personalized, plain-language politics app for everyday Americans. Rotunda explains what your government actually did — in plain language, from the official record, with every source open to inspection. WHAT IT DOES Your Daily 5 — five things your government did, explained in about five minutes. Federal, your state, your city, and the wider world. Know who represents you — enter a ZIP code and see your real federal, state and local officials, in the district you are actually in. See how they voted — real roll-call votes from the congressional record, with the official question rewritten into plain language and the bill's actual subject rather than a citation number. Understand your ballot — what each federal office on your ballot decides, what you are choosing when you vote for it, and how the booth itself works: that leaving a race blank does not void your ballot, that you can ask for a replacement if you make a mistake, what a judicial retention question is. Sources you can open — every story links back to the bill text, the roll call, or the council record it came from. HOW IT WORKS Rotunda reads official sources — Congress.gov, GovInfo, state legislature records, and city council systems — and rewrites them into plain language. Language models are used for one thing: rephrasing official text. Votes, bill status, sponsors, officeholders and dates are copied from the government record, never generated. Where a fact is missing, the app says so rather than filling the gap. WHAT ROTUNDA DOES NOT DO No ads. No trackers. No analytics software of any kind. No account, no password, no email address. No party framing, no predictions, no endorsements. Your name, ZIP code, interests and saved stories stay on your phone. There is no account to attach them to. Rotunda is not affiliated with any government body. For registration deadlines, polling places and the contents of your specific ballot, your state or local election office is the authoritative source.
