Most apps are built to keep you scrolling. Synapse is built to make you stop, just once a day. It gives you a single fact, carefully written and drawn from the deepest corners of science and history. No feed, no infinite scroll, just one idea worth carrying with you, delivered whenever you choose. These are not trivia. Each fact is a small story: the slow evaporation of black holes, declassified Cold War experiments, animals that bend the laws of physics, words that carry the fingerprints of ancient civilizations. Written to be read in a minute, and remembered far longer. Ten worlds to explore: • Abysses & Cosmos: the physics of deep space and the ocean floor • Dark History: real, documented, and deliberately forgotten • Biohacking: the science of pushing human biology to its limits • Mind & Neuroscience: the strange architecture of perception • Weird Fauna: evolution's most brutal and brilliant solutions • Future Tech: what tomorrow's labs are building today • Etymology Lab: words as archaeological artifacts • Megastructures: impossible engineering, ancient and future • Geopolitics: borders that defy logic • Daily Science: the deep laws hidden in ordinary moments A streak grows with every day you show up, and when life gets in the way a shield protects what you have built, so a single missed day never erases weeks of curiosity. Every fact also carries a rarity, so the more you read, the richer your collection becomes: a private map of everything you have learned. Curiosity is better when it travels. Follow friends, compare streaks on the leaderboard, and share the facts that move you. Synapse asks for one minute a day. What you do with the idea is up to you.

1983 is a vocabulary map. Every word in the catalogue is placed in two dimensions: intensity (from mild to extreme) and nuance (the axis that distinguishes near-synonyms). Open a cluster — say, "Shades of Anger" — and you see the entire neighborhood at a glance: irked vs incandescent vs apoplectic, all mapped, all clickable. The catalogue is curated, not crawled: 1,863 words across 208 clusters and 15 superclusters, each definition hand-written, each example pulled from public-domain literature or anchored in mythology. No filler, no near-duplicates. What's inside: THE SHELF — Browse the full map by supercluster, then drill into clusters of 4 to 30 words. Toggle the nuance axis to re-arrange the cluster from a different angle. THE DRILL — Three quiz modes: definition (which word means X), nuance (which option has the right shade), and intensity (rank by strength). Questions adapt to what you've missed. THE RECORD — A 90-day heatmap of practice, a list of your most-missed words, and a mastery archive that fills in as you progress. Master a cluster and earn a printed patch. THE DAILY — A Word of the Day widget for your home screen, refreshed every morning from the catalogue. Tap it to jump straight to the card. 7-day free trial, then $5.99/month auto-renewing subscription. Cancel anytime in Settings. Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email signup. Built for writers, GRE/SAT candidates, ESL speakers ready for the upper register, and anyone who got tired of looking words up only to forget them the next day.
