About

Acclimb

Climb Mount Everest with the steps you already take. Not a progress bar dressed up as scenery โ€” an illustrated Everest that relights from dawn to midnight, drifts with high-altitude cloud, tilts with your phone, and holds your climber exactly where your body has earned. Completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases. Acclimb turns your real Apple Health activity into a faithful expedition up Everest. Every flight of stairs, walk, run, hike and workout becomes vertical meters and distance along the real South Col route โ€” from Base Camp to the summit at 8,848 m. WHAT YOU GET โ€ข A living Everest scene โ€” sun-following sky, drifting cloud, parallax that answers your hand โ€ข Your route, traced โ€” Base Camp, Camp Iโ€“IV, the Balcony, the South Summit, the Hillary Step โ€ข Per-workout credit โ€” see how much that morning hike moved you up the face โ€ข Everyday stairs, counted โ€” the flights you climb without thinking about it โ€ข Two ways to climb โ€” Medium counts every metre the same; Hard thins the air near the top โ€ข Camp cinematics โ€” reach a camp and the camera moves, with a keepsake card โ€ข Route briefings and landmark cards โ€” the 1953 ascent, the Khumbu Icefall, the Death Zone โ€ข Real metrics โ€” summit ETA, 7-day trend, momentum and a daily progress chart โ€ข A permanent Summit Log โ€” every summit you reach is kept forever โ€ข Share cards โ€” rendered entirely on your device, framing the camp you reached โ€ข A global Game Center leaderboard for your highest altitude โ€” opt-in, off by default, and it shares only that one number HOW IT WORKS Real vertical counts most. Stairs and any workout that gains elevation count in full, at any pace โ€” a hilly hike always beats an hour on flat ground. A workout's own elevation already credits any stairs climbed during it, so nothing is counted twice. Choose how hard the mountain is. On Medium every metre counts the same: climb 150 m on a trail and you climb 150 m on Everest. On Hard the air thins as you go, as on the real mountain โ€” that same 150 m counts about 120 m near Camp III and about 100 m near the summit. Switch any time. Everything else still counts. Flat and indoor effort โ€” a treadmill run, a spin class, a long city walk โ€” is converted from active energy into equivalent meters and discounted, so it moves you without ever rivaling a real climb. You have to cover the ground too. Progress runs on two budgets, distance and height, and you stand at the furthest point where both are satisfied. No stair-climbing to the summit. And you can always see the math. A "What moves you up the mountain" view is one tap away and shows how every number was produced. No black box. NO STREAKS, NO GUILT There are no streaks to lose, no fail states, no red rings. Progress only ever moves forward. Take a week off and the mountain simply waits โ€” a rest day is a rest day, and Acclimb will never tell you otherwise. There is no manual "add progress" button either: your body is the only input. Turn on Reduce Motion and Acclimb honors it: the tilt-parallax stops and the sky settles almost still. YOUR HEALTH DATA STAYS YOURS Acclimb reads from Apple Health with your explicit, per-type permission, and never writes back. There is no backend, no account to create and no analytics. Only your derived progress โ€” your altitude and position on the route โ€” syncs to your own private iCloud, which only you can read. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising. Acclimb is declared to Apple as "Data Not Collected." The whole experience works offline. The mountain does not need a signal. Requires iOS 26 and an iPhone. Apple Health access is optional, and Acclimb needs it to move you up the mountain. Acclimb is a wellness companion and a game about your movement โ€” it is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or interpret anything, and it makes no medical claims. The activity figures it shows are neutral mirrors of your own Apple Health numbers. For anything medical, consult a qualified professional.
