SonaCap vs Transcape

SonaCap turns foreign-language audio and webpages into readable subtitles and translated text. Use the built-in browser for supported video websites, or start Broadcast and play audio from another app while SonaCap stays open. Features: - Realtime audio subtitles and translation - Built-in browser for video and audio websites - Webpage text translation - Bookmarks and multi-page browsing - 5 free minutes of realtime audio subtitles - One-time Full Unlock for unlimited realtime audio subtitles SonaCap does not upload your video, audio, or caption text to SonaCap servers. By default, Apple Speech recognition is limited to on-device processing when the selected input language supports it. Translation uses Apple's Translation framework and system-managed language resources. Captions and translations may be inaccurate or delayed. Do not rely on SonaCap for emergency, medical, legal, safety, financial, navigation, or other high-risk decisions.

Transcape is a live captions translator for iPhone and iPad, built for foreign-language videos, meetings, podcasts, livestreams and courses. When you start a session, Transcape recognizes the current audio and shows the original speech plus translation as floating bilingual captions, so you can follow what is being said while you watch or listen. Why use Transcape: - Turn spoken audio into real-time captions - Translate video calls, meetings, podcasts, livestreams and courses - See original text and translation together as bilingual subtitles - Keep captions visible in a floating caption window while using other apps - Use Apple on-device speech recognition and translation resources - Audio, recognized text and translations are not uploaded to our servers - Start with a 30-minute free trial, then choose monthly, yearly or early-bird lifetime access Transcape is designed for active listening, not ordinary pasted-text translation. Some languages may require Apple speech or translation resources to be downloaded first. Protected media or unusual audio sessions may not provide usable app audio through the system broadcast path.
