Motorcycle navigation, maps and route planning for your next ride. RiderShield brings GPS guidance, GPX routes, ride tracking and your riding community together in one app. All app features are free. No subscriptions, premium tiers or paid feature unlocks. PLAN YOUR RIDE Build routes with multiple stops and choose Fastest, Scenic or Twisty route preferences. Set preferences for highways, tolls and unpaved roads. Save routes to revisit later and discover routes shared by the community. FOLLOW THE ROAD Use turn-by-turn visual and voice guidance on supported calculated routes, including CarPlay navigation. Import GPX tracks and get directions to their starting points, then follow the saved course. Raw GPX tracks use course following rather than generated turn instructions. KEEP MAPS HANDY Explore map views and download map areas in advance. Downloaded maps help you view covered areas without a connection; calculating new routes and online features require internet access. RECORD AND REPLAY Track your route, distance, time and speed. Revisit ride statistics and replay saved journeys on the map. Keep your motorcycles organized in Garage and link your rides to the right vehicle. RIDE WITH YOUR COMMUNITY Find riders and groups, share posts and photos, and organize group rides. Report road hazards, traffic and police, and see community reports along the way. SET UP YOUR SAFETY TOOLS Add emergency contacts and configure crash detection and SOS options. Manage location sharing, privacy zones and optional data collection in Settings. Crash detection and SOS are additional tools, not a replacement for emergency services. Detection and delivery are not guaranteed, and connectivity and device conditions can affect these features. From your daily commute to your next motorcycle tour, plan it, ride it and keep the journey with RiderShield.

About

ADVGuide

ADVGuide brings the stories behind the Backcountry Discovery Route along for the ride. Designed for adventure motorcyclists, ADVGuide provides location-aware audio tours that follow BDR and BDR-X routes. As you ride, the app automatically plays stories, history, local lore, and practical information tied to the places you are passing. There is no schedule to follow and no need to stop and search for information along the way. Download your tour before the ride, and ADVGuide can continue working when cellular service disappears. As you travel the route, ADVGuide recognizes your location and plays relevant audio at the appropriate points. The experience is built around the actual BDR route, helping you better understand the landscapes, communities, people, and events connected to the ride. With ADVGuide, you can: • Follow location-aware audio tours created for BDR and BDR-X routes • Hear stories automatically as you approach relevant locations • Discover the history, people, landmarks, and communities along the route • Learn about local lore, geology, wildlife, and regional culture • Receive practical route information at useful locations • Download tour content for offline use • Browse route and section information before your trip • Review previously played audio points in your tour history • Purchase individual route tours based on your next ride ADVGuide is built to work in the background so you can keep your attention on the trail. You may be using a navigation app, listening to music, running another application, or riding with your screen off while ADVGuide continues monitoring your progress along the route. Tours are available as individual in-app purchases. Once downloaded, the tour content is stored on your device for offline use. ADVGuide is designed to complement the official BDR tracks and your preferred navigation system. It does not replace maps, GPS navigation, current route information, or good judgment. Always verify road, weather, fire, and closure conditions, carry appropriate navigation tools, and ride within your abilities. ADVGuide is an independent product and is not affiliated with Backcountry Discovery Routes. We encourage riders to support the BDR organization and its work creating and maintaining these routes. Ride the route. Know the story. Don’t miss the good stuff.
