String Ledger is the complete management app for musicians who take their instruments and gear seriously. Whether you own two guitars or a full touring rig, String Ledger keeps everything organized, documented, and protected. CATALOG YOUR COLLECTION Add every instrument and piece of gear you own. Log brand, model, nickname, year, serial number, color, country of origin, storage location, purchase price, and current value. Attach multiple photos to each instrument, pinch to zoom in on details, and save any photo back to your library. TRACK STRINGS & MAINTENANCE Never lose track of when you last changed your strings. Set a custom change interval, log every restring with brand and gauge, and receive push notification reminders when it's time — with a one-tap reorder link for your string brand. Double-neck guitars track each neck separately. Build a complete service history for every instrument. GEAR LIST Track all your gear too — amps, pedals, cables, microphones, audio interfaces, and more, with serial numbers, values, and service history. SETLISTS & GIG LISTS Build setlists and assign a specific guitar to each song, then print a stage-ready copy with or without the guitar names. Duplicate and rename setlists to reuse them. Build a gear list for every gig, and sort or reorder your setlists and gigs any way you like. INSURANCE-READY REPORTS Generate a professional PDF of your entire collection — serial numbers, prices, values, and service history — grouped by location. Export to a CSV spreadsheet too. Essential for insurance claims, theft recovery, or estate planning. BACKUP & RESTORE Export your whole collection, including photos, to a single backup file you can save to Files or iCloud Drive — then restore it anytime or move it to another device. BENEFICIARY RECORDS Assign a personal beneficiary to each instrument — who you want it to go to, their contact information, and any notes. WORKS YOUR WAY Choose from 40 currencies, search and sort your collection, and switch to a larger list view. PLANS The free plan supports up to 5 items. Collector unlocks unlimited instruments, gear, and reports. Pro adds Gigs and Setlists on top. Collector: $2.99/month or $24.99/year. Pro: $4.99/month or $39.99/year. Cancel anytime. Riglocker

Riglocker keeps your musical gear collection on your own device — and nowhere else. Add a piece of gear with its photos, and the purchase price, year, serial number and maintenance history all live in one place. Everything is encrypted on the device. Your gear data is never sent to a server, and no account is required. ■ Your collection, seen at a glance • Register guitars, basses, amps, effects pedals, keyboards, drums, wind instruments, microphones and recording gear • Add up to 10 photos per item, reorder them, and choose a cover photo • Shoot with the camera or pick from your photo library • Switch between a photo-first grid and an information-rich list ■ Keep the price behind Face ID • Purchase prices, maintenance costs, serial numbers and notes are masked by default • They appear only after Face ID or Touch ID approves • Leave the app and come back, and everything masks itself again • Hand your phone to someone with the photos showing and the figures hidden ■ A service history that stays with the instrument • Log string changes, overhauls, pickup swaps and neck adjustments with dates • Record who did the work and what it cost • Costs are totalled per currency — different currencies are never added together • The gear detail screen shows the maintenance total next to the purchase price ■ Gear dossier PDF • Export one item's details as an A4 PDF • Useful when selling, requesting a repair, or keeping insurance and asset records • You choose which fields appear. Private notes are never included ■ Collector cards and collection posters • Turn one instrument into a single card image you can share • Lay your whole collection out on one poster image • Choose what appears, so you can share without revealing prices ■ Display mode • A full-screen slideshow on a dark background, cycling through the gear you select • For live venues, shops and studios • Purchase prices, serial numbers and notes are never shown • The screen stays awake while the display runs ■ AI prompt generator • Builds prompts for researching used-market prices, confirming specs and eras, or drafting a listing • Copy the generated text and paste it into the AI service you use • The app never sends anything to an AI service on its own ■ Privacy • Gear data and photos are encrypted and stored on the device • EXIF data, including where a photo was taken, is stripped before saving • No server-side storage of your gear, no account, no ads, no behavioural tracking • Sharing and PDF export only ever happen when you ask for them • Verifying an in-app purchase contacts the billing platform, which receives purchase information and an anonymous ID — your gear data is never part of it ■ Pricing • Free for your first five items • From the sixth, a one-time purchase removes the limit. There is no subscription

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Riglocker at none against String Ledger's shown. Riglocker also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
