LightStop
Read full descriptionHide full description
LightStop is a professional lighting calculator built for cinematographers, gaffers, electricians and film students. Calculate required illuminance from camera settings, check verified fixture photometrics, apply gels and diffusion, compare fixtures side by side, build your lighting truck and estimate power loads for EU and US sets. Designed for real film work, LightStop helps you understand exposure, output, distance, modifiers and power in one clean, practical tool. FEATURES • Lux / foot-candle exposure calculator Calculate required light levels from ISO, frame rate, shutter angle, T-stop, ND and camera filters. • Verified fixture catalog Browse real fixture photometric data from manufacturer sources and technical documentation. • Fixture detail calculator Adjust distance, output mode, CCT, gels and diffusion to estimate lux, foot-candles, exposure and beam size. • Estimated CCT with gels Apply CTO / CTB filters and see the estimated resulting color temperature using mired shift calculations when data is available. • Compare fixtures Compare 2–4 fixtures at the same distance and modifiers, including output, T-stop, watts, beam diameter and stop difference. • My Truck Create lighting packages, add fixtures, set quantities, favorites and nicknames. • Power View Estimate total load, current, phases and fixture distribution for EU and US power systems, including 230V, 120V, split-phase and three-phase setups. • Metric and imperial workflow Switch between meters / feet and lux / foot-candles. LightStop is made for set planning, pre-production, teaching and fast technical checks on location. NOTES Photometric values may vary depending on fixture condition, lamp age, voltage, optics, modifiers, firmware, beam angle, accessories, calibration and manufacturer measurement conditions. Power View is an estimation tool for planning only. Always confirm electrical loads, distribution and safety with a qualified electrician or gaffer according to local regulations. ColourTemp
This tool measures light sources in Kelvin and detects mains-frequency flicker, helping videographers ensure consistent color temperature and avoid post-production issues. It also calculates banding risk and allows for freezing readings to compare fixtures.
- Color temperature measurement (2500K-9900K)
- Mains frequency flicker detection (50Hz/60Hz)
- PWM dimming detection
- Banding risk calculator
- Freeze and compare readings
- Device calibration for consistency

ColourTemp is a colour temperature and flicker detection tool built for working videographers, DPs, cinematographers and gaffers. Point the camera at any light source for an instant Kelvin reading. Switch to flicker mode to detect mains-frequency flicker before it becomes a post problem. COLOUR TEMPERATURE Measure light from 2500K candlelight to 9900K open sky. White balance is locked to a fixed 5600K reference for consistent, repeatable readings across a shoot. Readings are close approximations — a fast, practical guide for the set, not a replacement for a calibrated colorimeter. FLICKER DETECTION Uses 240fps camera sampling and FFT analysis to detect 50Hz and 60Hz mains flicker and harmonics. Also flags PWM dimming on LED fixtures that conventional measurement misses. BANDING RISK CALCULATOR Set your project frame rate and shutter speed. ColourTemp calculates instantly whether your current combination will produce banding — and can snap to a safe setting automatically. FREEZE & COMPARE Pause a reading to lock a reference. Adjust frame rate and shutter speed while the measurement stays frozen — ideal for comparing multiple fixtures or matching practical lamps. CALIBRATION Point at a known 5600K reference and take a five-second calibrated reading. The app stores a custom offset for your device and shooting conditions, improving consistency across a whole production. Built by a working DP — because practical fixtures don't ask permission, and bad light costs money in post. No account. No data collected. Everything runs on your device. Available as an annual subscription or one-off lifetime purchase. Pricing and terms are shown at first launch. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
