CubeSnap solves your cube from two photos. Point the camera at your scrambled cube with the white center facing up. Snap. Flip it over so the yellow center faces up. Snap again. CubeSnap reads all 54 stickers and plays back a step-by-step solution on an interactive 3D cube. WATCH IT, DO NOT DECODE IT Your solution plays as smooth 3D turns with the current move highlighted, adjustable speed, and a second view that tracks every step: a flattened net, or a ring graph that shows how each turn moves the stickers. Step forward and back through each turn until it clicks. NO CUBE? TRY THE DEMO The home screen solves a sample cube the moment you open the app. No account, no setup. GOD'S NUMBER Every scramble can be solved in 20 moves or fewer, a bound nicknamed God's number. The gold badge celebrates when your solution meets it, and Tighten hunts for something even shorter. FREE THROUGH 2026 Every solution is free through December 31, 2026. After that, unlock a solution with a single purchase or go unlimited with CubeSnap Unlimited. Reading your cube is always free. No ads, ever. ON IPHONE AND IPAD One app, both screens. PRIVACY FIRST Your photos are used to read the cube and nothing else. No account required. Solve your 3x3 or 2x2 cube in minutes, without paying, without ads and without an internet connection. SCAN YOUR CUBE Photograph each face with the camera or pick photos from your library. FreeCubeSolver reads the colors, checks that the cube is valid and shows which stickers to fix if something was misread. You can also enter the colors by hand. FOLLOW THE SOLUTION The 3x3 is solved in 20 moves or fewer, the 2x2 in the shortest possible number of moves. Each move is animated on a 3D cube with clear notation and a description. Step forward, step back, or let it play at your own speed. LEARN TO SOLVE IT YOURSELF Learn mode teaches the beginner method step by step, with an animated 3D demo of every algorithm. PRACTICE Generate a random scramble, apply it to your cube and solve it, or let the app solve it for you. SPEEDCUBING TIMER Time your solves with a 15-second WCA-style inspection, touch-and-hold start, and +2 and DNF penalties. See your best time and your averages of 5 and 12, with separate sessions for the 3x3 and 2x2. Your times stay on your device. CUBE BASICS A short introduction to the colors, pieces, layers and move notation. Verdict
CubeSnap and FreeCubeSolver are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters — price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
