About

DropPulse

Features

DropPulse measures your hydration instead of guessing it. Most hydration apps multiply your weight by a number and remind you to drink. DropPulse runs the actual field protocols: a sweat rate test based on the ACSM position stand, urine tone tracking on an 8-step scale, and a daily target that moves with your workouts, the weather and your measured sweat losses. SWEAT RATE TEST Weigh in before and after exercise, then enter duration, weather and fluid intake. DropPulse computes your individual sweat rate in ml/h, stores every test and charts your 30-day median. URINE TONE TRACKING Log tone in seconds. The chart plots your daily median and daily range against your water intake, so you see both together. The app tells you when you are likely under-hydrated; it never claims you are well hydrated, because self-assessment cannot prove that. LIVING DAILY GOAL Your target adjusts for logged workouts, hot days and your measured sweat rate, with safety caps between 1500 and 4000 ml per day. ELECTROLYTES Track sodium, potassium and magnesium against a sweat sodium profile you select yourself, because sodium loss varies from 10 to 90 mmol/L between people and cannot be derived from body size. BEVERAGE HYDRATION INDEX A catalog of 26 drinks with hydration factors based on Maughan et al. 2016, not folklore. A coffee and a glass of water do not count identically. KIDNEY STONE PREVENTION MODE An optional target based on the AUA/EAU recommendation of at least 2.5 L of urine output per day. EVERY CLAIM IS CITED 32 medical sources from Mayo Clinic, CDC, Harvard, Cleveland Clinic and PubMed, collected in a Sources screen inside the app. ALSO INCLUDED One-tap logging, custom drinks and cups, weight and workout logs, streaks, achievements, history and statistics, reminders timed between the hours you wake and sleep, a home screen widget, and offline use with optional cloud backup. IN YOUR LANGUAGE Fully localized in English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Russian and Bengali. DROPPULSE PREMIUM Premium unlocks sweat rate testing, electrolyte tracking, the prevention target mode, unlimited custom drinks and cups, and an ad-free experience. Your own data, history and charts are always free. Premium is offered as an auto-renewable subscription, on monthly and annual plans. Prices in your local currency are shown in the app before you purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings at any time. Note: DropPulse is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat or screen for any condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional about your fluid intake, especially if you have a kidney or heart condition, are pregnant, or take medication affecting fluid balance. Verdict

The call

Calife and DropPulse are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Calife sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year and DropPulse sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
