The calorie tracker you'll actually keep using. Say what you ate, and Ore does the counting. If you've quit a calorie app before, you know why: hunting a database for the right "grilled chicken," weighing every bite, closing ads between entries. Ore skips all of it. Tell it "two eggs, sourdough toast and a flat white" and it's logged in seconds, with calories, protein, carbs, fat and fiber. "I've tried other apps in the past for tracking calories and I always stopped after a day or two. This app makes logging everything that I eat so easy that I actually use it." (App Store review) LOG IT THE WAY YOU REMEMBER IT • Say it: tell Ore what you ate, or ask Siri to log a meal. • Snap it: photograph your plate and Ore lists every item and its portion. • Scan it: point at a barcode for the exact product and its label. • Type it: write it like a quick note. No scale needed. "A palm-sized piece of salmon" or "a small handful of almonds" is enough; Ore works out the grams. EATING OUT, SORTED Name the dish and the restaurant, and Ore finds the restaurant's own numbers and breaks the meal into its parts. Somewhere without nutrition info? Ore estimates each part, and one tap adds the butter and oil restaurant kitchens use. IT LEARNS YOUR ROUTINE Your usual breakfast is one tap, because Ore remembers what you eat and when. A reminder comes at your usual meal time, and your streak forgives one missed day a week, because life happens. A PLAN BUILT AROUND YOU Ore sets your calorie, protein, carb, fat and fiber targets from your body and your goal, and shows you the math. Connect Apple Health and the days you move more give you more room. Change any number, any time. ONE QUESTION, ONLY WHEN IT MATTERS If a detail changes the numbers ("Was the curry creamy or tomato-based?"), Ore asks once. Otherwise it stays out of your way, and every item is yours to check and fix. Logging is free, with no ads. ORE PRO: A COACH THAT KNOWS WHAT YOU ATE • Ask Ore anything about your meals, your day or your goal, and get answers built from your own logs, not generic advice. • Plan your next meal around what's left in your day. • Short notes from Ore when something is worth knowing. Logging stays free. Ore Pro is an optional subscription: $12.99 a month or $103.99 a year in the U.S. (prices vary by country). Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it anytime in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Up to 20 Ask questions a day. Invite 3 friends who join Ore and get 30 days of Ore Pro free. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Sign in with Apple, no separate password. Photos stay with the meal they belong to and are deleted with it. Raw Apple Health activity stays on your device. Delete your account and data anytime from inside the app. Ore is a smart-estimate tool to help you stay aware of what you eat. It is not a medical device and offers general nutrition guidance, not medical advice. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Motive at 5.0 against Ore's 4.8. Ore's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Motive holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ore has 22 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 93% of Ore's written reviews are positive against 100% of Motive's.
