OpenIdle

You've got a laptop, a credit card, and an opinion about AGI. Time to found your own AI lab. OpenIdle is a satirical idle game about the race to artificial general intelligence — and the way the finish line keeps politely moving. Found a company in a garage, train a model lineage, hire a workforce, generate hype, and allocate compute, data, and influence as you climb toward a post-AGI prestige loop. Hire, ship, hype, rebalance, and watch the target move with institutional grace. Cross an AGI goalpost and the definition quietly advances. Prestige, refound, and run the same race a little sharper. The numbers go up. The goalposts go further. - Bootstrap an AI lab from a garage to a sprawling research org - Train a model line with a personality — and opinions - Split compute, data, and influence across competing priorities - Ride market events, generate hype, ship on schedule - Cross AGI goalposts that refuse to hold still - Prestige into a faster, stranger version of the loop All companies and models depicted are fictional. The compute, tokens, alignment budgets, and moving goalposts they abstract are not. The treadmill, as far as we can tell, is perpetual.

One gear. One crank. Many orders of magnitude. In Torque you build gearboxes: first at the workbench, then in the workshop, your own factory, the test center, a whole industrial group and finally megaprojects like a tunnel boring machine or a Mars rover. And when it's all done, you hand the company to the next generation. Every gear ratio loads the motor, every stage runs in, and each era ends with a new prestige layer. • Seven eras – everything unlocks step by step • Real engineering: worm gears, planetary gears, differentials, CVTs, strain wave gears • Materials lab with real alloys: bronze, brass, Invar, Hastelloy … • Endless endgame: heirlooms, a family endowment with compound interest and a portrait gallery of your dynasty • Active at first, automated later – with foremen, plant manager, supervisory board and family council • Offline progress, 100+ achievements and many secret ones • In English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Japanese • Dark mode, choice of number notation • No pay-to-win: ads only if you choose – for 4 hours of double speed For everyone who loves big numbers – and gears.
