DynamicPOV

DynamicPOV app turns the iPhone, iPad, or AirPods you already own into a precision head tracker for flight simulator β€” look around the virtual cockpit just by moving your head. No dongle, no clips, no extra hardware. Your device streams head motion to OpenTrack on your PC over Wi-Fi, and OpenTrack feeds it straight into Microsoft Flight Simulator and any OpenTrack-compatible sim. THREE WAYS TO TRACK β€’ TrueDepth camera (6DOF) β€” full head position and rotation with depth-accurate precision. Lean in, move, and look around naturally. β€’ Front camera (6DOF) β€” face-based tracking for devices without a TrueDepth sensor. β€’ AirPods motion (3DOF) β€” smooth head rotation using Spatial Audio head tracking. Works with AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and AirPods (3rd & 4th generation). β€’ Combine modes β€” use the camera for position and AirPods for rotation at the same time. FINE-TUNE EVERYTHING β€’ Enable or disable any axis: X, Y, Z, Zoom, Yaw, Pitch, and Roll. β€’ Per-axis response curves with a live preview graph. β€’ Adjustable max input and output distance for every axis. β€’ Sensitivity, smoothness, and per-axis Reverse. β€’ One-tap Re-Center to reset your neutral head position anytime. β€’ Zoom axis to lean in on the instruments. BUILT FOR YOUR SETUP β€’ Connect over local Wi-Fi or your device's built-in hotspot. β€’ Update rate up to 30 Hz for low-latency, responsive tracking. β€’ Keeps the screen awake while tracking so you never drop out mid-flight. PRIVACY FIRST Sim Motion Tracker reads numeric head position and motion values only. No photos, video, or audio are ever recorded or uploaded. WHAT YOU NEED β€’ A Windows PC running your flight sim and OpenTrack (free, open source). β€’ iPhone/iPad and PC on the same Wi-Fi network, or use hotspot mode. β€’ For AirPods tracking: a supported AirPods model with head tracking enabled. Take your seat, center your view, and fly with a natural pilot point of view.

About

Adaptive HeadTrack

Adaptive HeadTrack focuses on making head tracking feel more natural. Tracking gain changes continuously with head-turn speed. Fine movements use a lower gain for precise control, while faster turns become more responsive. This reduces the need for heavy Smooth and Dead Zone settings, helping cut lag and the start-stop feeling around center. Adaptive HeadTrack uses the TrueDepth camera on iPhone and iPad for 6DOF tracking and sends motion data over the local network to OpenTrack on a Windows PC. Game compatibility Works with OpenTrack and games that support FreeTrack, TrackIR, or compatible head-tracking protocols, including Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, DCS World, IL-2 Sturmovik, War Thunder, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator, Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and more. Eye-focus gain control Eye-focus state can also influence tracking gain, giving you another way to adjust tracking without using extra buttons. 240 Hz pose timeline reconstruction TrueDepth input runs at up to 60 Hz. Adaptive HeadTrack reconstructs the pose timeline at up to 240 Hz for smoother motion and better continuity during fast head movement. Tracking stability The tracking pipeline is tuned for small jitter, short input disturbances, and rapid movement while keeping smoothing and dead zones low. Advanced tuning You can adjust adaptive gain, tracking response, smoothing, stability, recenter assistance, eye-focus control, and other tracking parameters directly in the app. Main features - 6DOF TrueDepth head tracking - Adaptive gain based on head-turn speed - Lower reliance on Smooth and Dead Zone - Eye-focus gain control - 240 Hz pose timeline reconstruction - Recenter assistance - Stable tracking under brief disturbances - Advanced parameter tuning - Up to 60 Hz TrueDepth input - Local-network connection to OpenTrack OpenTrack must be installed and configured on the Windows PC before first use. Recommended presets, setup instructions, device recommendations, and the full user guide are available on the Support page.
