Most idle games hand you a number that only ever goes up. Kiln gives you one real anagama firing — a single shared temperature, drawn live in cross-section — and dares you to hold every pot in its window without cooking it. You stoke wood to raise the heat, and the chamber cools on its own. Every ware on the shelves shares that one temperature. But each pot matures only while the heat sits inside its own cone band — the colored zone drawn right into the section. A teabowl ripens low; a tall tsubo needs real heat. Hold a ware in its band and its maturation bar fills; pull it fully matured and it pays reales. That is the whole tension. Push the temperature UP to reach the high cones, but the moment you overshoot a shallow-cone ware's band top, it bloats, slumps and greys out — ruined, lost. So firing is two-sided control: build heat to ripen the big pieces, hold it steady so you don't cook the little ones. Choose your wood. The woodpile fills as you fire — red pine and bamboo charcoal spike hot to chase the high cones, white oak burns low and lays a bed of coals that HOLDS the heat so shallow wares don't cook, and cedar throws the heaviest ash glaze of all. The wood on the stoke is a real decision, made moment to moment for what sits on your shelves. And the finest pots are made at the edge. The olive top slice of every cone band is the ASH ZONE: hold a ware there and wood-ash falls onto it as natural ash glaze, worth up to double at the pull — but that slice hugs the ruin line, so the richest glaze is one overshoot from a slumped grey loss. Then the patrons arrive. Named buyers — the Tea Master, the Sake Brewer, the Daimyō's Steward — post commissions: so many wares of a kind, some demanding true ash glaze. Take an order, serve it with genuine pulls, and earn a purse plus a patron's favor. Favors buy permanent workshop arts in the Patrons' Hall — and one irrevocable signature oath that marks half the kiln as yours forever. Grow the firing: a bigger firebox raises the ceiling to reach higher cones, more stokers build heat faster, thicker walls hold it longer, more shelves fire more wares at once, and better clay widens every forgiving band. When a chamber is mastered, Open a New Chamber to bank master seals — a permanent multiplier on every ware's price — and fire a larger kiln. It runs while you're away: the fire keeps banking heat and the pots keep maturing for up to an hour free — extendable to 8 or 24 hours with a one-time purchase — and pays you on return. • One shared temperature you raise, hold, and can overshoot • Cone bands drawn as live zones — wares glow in-band, grey out when ruined • A woodpile of five cordwoods — spike the heat, hold it with coals, or throw ash • Ash glaze: ride the top of the band for up to double value — one slip from ruin • Patron commissions: take orders, serve them with real pulls, earn favors • The Patrons' Hall: permanent arts plus one irrevocable signature oath • Firebox, stokers, walls, shelves and clay to master the firing • Idle-friendly: the kiln banks heat offline (1h free, or 8h/24h) and pays you on return • Open a New Chamber prestige banks permanent seals and a larger kiln • Fully offline, no account, nothing collected Stoke wisely. Pull them ripe.
