I made this game for the quiet minutes. A tiny miner walks, digs, and hauls ore while you watch, and he keeps working after you close the app. You start on the Pebble Path with a stone pick and a small bag. Sell what he digs, buy him better gear, and open the way down. There are eighteen zones, and the last few take real patience to reach. Along the way you'll spot gems on the path, chase mining goals for every ore, and maybe, eventually, run out of mine. I'm digging more. Things I care about, so they're built in: • He mines while you're away, with a cap, so it stays a game and not a chore. • No ads. Ever. • No account, no sign-up, nothing collected. Your save lives on your phone. • Everything in the game can be earned by playing. The few purchases are shortcuts and tips, not walls. This is my first game. I built it alone: the pixel art, the cave sounds, the ore prices I argued with myself about for weeks. If something feels broken or unfair, tell me through the support page and I'll fix it. Thanks for giving the tiny miner a look.

Your grandmother Wren left you her farm. She left the shop too, and the hole in the ground under the field, and not much of an explanation. Water both, she said. Duskroot is a cosy farming game with a mine underneath it. FARM BY DAY Clear the ground, till it, plant it, water it, and bring it in. What you grow is what you have to sell. RUN YOUR OWN SHOP Put a thing on a shelf and put a price on it. Villagers come in, look at what you are asking, and decide. Too dear and they wince. Too cheap and you have fed them for nothing. Nobody ever tells you what anything is worth. You work it out by selling. DELVE BY DUSK Take a pick and a sword down and see how far you get. A sword combo, a bow you hold to draw, slimes, skeletons and a couple of things that are worse. Fall down there, or stay past midnight, and half of what you are carrying stays behind. ONE TREE, TWO LIVES Farming, fighting, mining, fishing and haggling all feed one pool of stars, and one branching tree spends them. There is no class to pick at the start. What you spend it on is who you turn into. FREE, AND IT STAYS FREE There is no paywall anywhere in Duskroot. Two moments offer you a short advert in exchange for a favour: a hint at the shop, and a hand up when you fall in the mine. Both are optional, both are capped, and skipping them costs you nothing. If you would rather never see an advert, the Rootkeeper's Pact takes the adverts away and leaves the favours. There is also a pet to follow you around and a night bloom for the tree, if you want to say thanks. Both are just for looks. Grow it. Sell it. Go down and get more.

Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: TinyMine Idle at 100% against Duskroot's 25%. TinyMine Idle also leads on rating (5.0 vs 2.0) and ads (none vs shown). Duskroot's advantage is update cadence (daily vs every 5 days). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TinyMine Idle sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Duskroot sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
TinyMine Idle holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TinyMine Idle has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. TinyMine Idle ships an update every 5 days, Duskroot daily. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
