Bob is a giant snail. He's behind you on the path, and he never stops moving. Your real daily steps are the only thing keeping him off your back. Snail Walk turns your actual step count into a survival game. Every step you take in real life moves you forward on the path. Stop walking, and Bob - patient, unbothered, always moving - closes the gap. Catch up, and he's still coming. There is no version of this where he gives up. This is the only walking app where you can lose. HOW IT WORKS - Connect Apple Health. Your daily steps become distance on the path. - Hold to advance - spend your banked steps to move forward, or save them for a day you can't walk. - Bob advances at his own pace, whether or not you open the app. - If he catches you, you die. A tombstone is placed at your distance, permanently visible to every other player who walks past. Other apps reward you for moving. Bob doesn't care either way, he's not angry, not disappointed, just walking, same as you. He never stops. If you do, he catches up. A SHARED WORLD Every player walks the same path. Pass other pilgrims, walk by their graves, pay respects at a tombstone with a candle, a stone, or a flower. Compete on the Hall of Fame leaderboard for furthest distance ever survived. SET YOUR OWN PACE Bob's speed is adjustable - start easier, or make it brutal. It's the only setting that's yours to change, and it's never for sale. WHAT YOU GET One-time purchase or subscription. No ads. No free tier. No pay-to-win. Cosmetics (characters, tombstone styles) are optional and never affect the chase. Requires Apple Health step access. No GPS, no location tracking, ever. Already shows you the life you're building — with your own face in it. One selfie becomes a photorealistic image of you already there: the home, the calm, the body, the work. Then a guided session each day — three, five or ten minutes, whichever you choose — built around a fresh image of that life, that walks you into the felt sense of already living it. HOW IT WORKS 1. Name the life. A short set of questions about what you're moving toward. 2. Add one selfie. Already generates a photorealistic scene of you already there. No beauty filters. 3. Practice daily. Each day brings a new image and a new guided session — narrated, with ambient sound. Eyes closed, nothing to type. That's the whole product. An image you recognize, and a few minutes a day with it. WHAT YOU GET • A photorealistic future self, generated from your own face • A new image every day — the same life, a new angle • Guided sessions of three, five or ten minutes, narrated with ambient sound • A note from your future self — one line a day, written from the other side • A gallery of thirty days: one scene, coming into focus • Widgets and wallpapers, so it's there when you unlock your phone • Streaks, because the practice is the point WHY IT WORKS MIT Media Lab's Future You study (2024) found that interacting with a realistic, personalized future self reduced anxiety and increased future-self continuity — how connected you feel to the person you're becoming. UCLA Anderson's Hal Hershfield, a co-author on that study, has spent more than a decade showing that this sense of continuity changes what people choose today. That's the whole basis. No numerology, no scripting rules, no promises about what will show up. PRIVATE Your images are yours. There's no feed, no profile, no sharing, and no beauty filtering. Your gallery is visible only to you. ALREADY PRO Already Pro unlocks the daily practice: a new image and a new guided session every day, the full gallery, widgets and wallpapers. • Annual — $69.99 • Monthly — $14.99 • Weekly — $6.99 Prices are in USD and may vary by region. Verdict

The call

Snail Walk and Already are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization
